'We stayed for 6 days over Easter. The hotel is surrounded by countryside and a few buildings nearby yet is close to Whitehaven. The views are lovely - out to sea and across to Scotland. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were always very friendly. We ate in the hotel most nights, enjoying the well-presented tasty food. My food intolerances were well taken care of. 'Dit zou een 4-sterrenaccomodatie zijn, en volgens de prijs die we betaalden mocht dat ook wel. De accommodatie is gedateerd, badkamer met jaccuzi is oud, geen mengkraan maar een oude hot/coldkraan die moeilijk te regelen viel. Dunne muren, het leek alsof de gasten uit de aangrenzende kamer in onze badkamer stonden te douchen, om van de ruziënde kinderen nog maar te zwijgen. Extra betalen voor de parking, terwijl alle dagbestedingen verplaatsing met de auto vereisen, is niet fijn. £10 per nacht...

"Een zeer charmant hotel in typische UK-stijl. Alles was top! Ik kan dit hotel zeker aanbevelen. Ook een ideaal hotel voor mensen die hun hond graag mee op vakantie nemen. En een ideale plaats als vertrekpunt voor tal van wandelingen. Enige minpuntje is dat er geen airco op de kamer is. Maar dat is in de meeste manors niet te vinden. 😉 Dus enkel bij zeer tropische temperaturen zou ik een andere locatie zoeken. "
