We used this as a base for visiting Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. It worked perfectly. In the evenings, we saw deer, turkeys, and many squirrels. Fireflies too! It was a lovely mini-vacation for our family. Everyone enjoyed the variety of books and old National Geographic magazines in the evening. Wonderful!'

'This house is quirky and wonderful. We loved the old part of the house, complete with a small boat in the living room ceiling! Wonderful things to look at all over the house. The new part of the house has large windows and doors for viewing the York River as the tide ebbs and flows. We loved watching the birds fish for their dinner. 'John and Sherri were gracious hosts, and meticulously historically accurate in restoring the cottage. The dock, river, ability to launch our kayaks from the floating dock combined with the well stocked cottage made our stay a true respite from our care giving roles. A true Gem!'

'So the parking was a bit hard to find because it was down a side alleyway. When we got inside, none of the beds had sheets on them and the linens in the dryer were still a bit damp. I texted the host but got no response. There was brown stains on the memory foam mat in the kitchen and spider webs in the bathroom that we had to clean.
