'Great location, lovely decorations and good parking. Disappointed with the cleanliness and poor response from the host when I raised this so Vrbo had to step in. Otherwise a great place to stay.'

'We found the location to be on the right side of isolated. We quickly fell in love with the Taff Bargoed Valley and its surrounds. Each day tempted us to take a new lane up into the moors and explore the places we were driving through to get to our chosen destination for that day.The dog walking area is close and a joy to walk to and through. 'Fijn hotel, mooie spa, heerlijke kamer met vuurpot op terras. Hotel personeel niet de slimste. Inchecken kostte veel tijd. Restaurantpersoneel slecht. Wijn werd niet gebracht. Moest dat zelfs eisen onder dreigement van eten terugsturen. Zou er zeker niet gaan eten. We hadden eend. Deze was zelfs niet met een mes te snijden. Klacht aan het personeel verteld. Antwoord wat we kregen was dat de chef dat ook vond. Geen excuus of aanbieden van een koffie na. Bediening zeer slecht.'

'Way overpriced for what you get. Old reputation may be good but that must be years ago. Noisy room. No cleaning of rooms when you stay longer than 1 night. Old building. The staff tried to do their best but can not help the problems this hotel has.'

'Nice building, character. We had a huge room in the eves, great. However, there is a need for some maintenance, stair carpet a big hole, some woodwork could do with a lick of paint, silicone refreshing. The spa, mmmm, clean those shower walls and repair some taps and such. It really needs to be uplofted in places.'

'What a lovely room at the top of a pub. Beautifully presented and pristine and lots of space although steep steps. There are a few quirks as to be expected in an old building but that didn’t put us off as we ourselves live in an old property. Communication was very good. Thank you for having us 😊'

'This place is a wip, but you can see they are making improvements and working hard to get it sorted. Was clean, warm and overlooking fantastic views which you would pay for in other venues. Food good. Activities like games and mags available, a bar and of course the bike.used as a stop off. Would stay again.'

Pluspunten: goede douche, en de bedden en handdoeken waren schoon. Het personeel was vriendelijk. Twee-persoons matras is hard. Eén-persoons bed is ok. Dunne kussens. Full English breakfast is ok.
