120 Yr Oude hut, Geweldig stel / familie Wegwezen

Gelegen in de buurt van een kleine kreek met meer dan 40 hectare grond om te verkennen. Trails brengen je naar een kleine privékreek met inheemse forel. Vanaf de veranda zie je herten, kalkoenen en andere dieren in het wild. Deze rustieke hut is in 1957 verhuisd van de oorspronkelijke gezinswoning. Cabin's keuken voldoet aan de behoeften van weekendbezoekers met moderne gemakken. De slaapkamer op de privéslaapkamer biedt een groot raam dat uitkijkt op 5 hectare weiland. De woonkamer heeft een tv (alleen voor dvd's - geen satelliet of kabel) en een assortiment dvd's en games. De belangrijkste woonvertrekken hebben twee slaapbanken die er vier zullen slapen. We hebben met opzet Wi-Fi niet in de cabine geplaatst, zodat u echt kunt ontsnappen. De mobiele service is echter sterk, zodat u nog steeds tekst- en voicemailberichten kunt ontvangen.
Let op: de trap naar de slaapkamer op de vliering is steil ... we raden u aan naar beneden te gaan, alsof u naar boven gaat, tegenover de trap ... als u dat doet, komt alles goed. Ook zijn de traptreden (3 treden) op de veranda rots en de laatste is hoger dan de eerste twee. Er is een kleinere stap rechts van de veranda die u kunt gebruiken om op de veranda en in het huis te komen, indien nodig. Deze hut is niet handicappe toegankelijk.

We absolutely LOVED our stay! Kids and pups had room to roam, felt like we were out in the middle of nowhere while still close to what we needed. We saw deer every morning and even enjoyed a hike to the falls with the best guide ever, Oreo! Already have next year booked!

Stunning!

My wife and I spent a long weekend at the cabin and it was such a peaceful getaway. The hosts were incredibly kind and thoughtful and we can't thank them enough for their generosity! This is truly a magical spot. The show of thousands of fireflies observed from the porch on a summer night is an unforgettable experience. We hope to be back soon!

A beautiful spot with so much history- the photos do not do this amazing property justice!

Our family was honored to stay in this 120 year old cabin on this amazing homestead and be a tiny part of its history. Absolutely great location, lovely short walk to the waterfall, it was so relaxing and stepping back in time to the basics. We loved our time and can't wait to come back!

Cabin Getaway

Cabin is charming. Property was beautiful. The rushing water from the stream is relaxing. We had up to 11 deer visit at dawn and dusk everyday. Great to getaway and it snowing while there was amazing to experience.

Amazing family Christmas vacation

Great getaway

My husband and i were looking for a place to get away from everything and just rest and do nothing. The cabin was the perfect spot. We had an issue with the upstairs heat when we first got there, but the owners took care of that. They were very nice and made sure we had everything we needed and knew where everything was. We didn't go anywhere, just stayed there and got the rest we needed. Great place to get away from it all. Hope to go back again sometime.

The Rustic Cabin

The rustic cabin reminded me of my grandparents home there in the NC mountains. It's conveniently located to grocery store, restaurants & allowed easy access to be with family & friends. The location was very private & isolated. Favorites: sitting on front porch rocker or lying in swing reading/napping; walking the paths to the creek which our dog especially loved; watching the deer come & go throughout the day; rabbits roaming; listening to the rain on the tin roof. We loved the cabin, but will truthfully say it is not for anyone that wants to be pet & pampered but is an experience of how our ancestors lived !!

Rustic and Peaceful but the stairs

We loved the atmosphere of the place. Nice large living area. The host is excellent. Everything was perfect except the bed is upstairs, the stairs are a bit challenging and you have to go downstairs to use the bathroom. Also, the kitchen is limited so check it out before you shop.

Mountain Living

No WiFi-No Problem Very close to Boone and Blowing Rock (seriously 10-15 minutes) but you feel 100 miles away. We took 2 Boston Terriers and they had a blast exploring the woods and trails. (Bring bug spray) Owners are super nice and are obviously good folks!

Quaint Cabin

We really enjoyed the cabin a lot of history in the cabin. The view and the wildlife was amazing. The walk we took thru the woods and to the creek was delightful and a bit of a work out. The cabin is set in a beautiful place but yet close to blowing rock.

Great get away and super close to APP State

This was our third stay here and is our go to place for weekend visits to Boone ans APP. Love the cozy cabin and the dogs love running in the big front yard.
