'This was an amazing place with an incredible nostalgia. We got there at midnight the first night because of a late flight. One of the members of the family who owned this place, showed up at the gate and let us in. When you get there, you get a key to open the gate into the garden area. The rooms are old, but designed with a lot of charm. We had the bathroom with the pinewood tub. The entire experience was five stars. 'We’ve had an excellent stay, very walkable to Old Town San Diego, good restaurants in the direct area. The pool is a bit small though, San Diego zoo and the SS Midway are very close. The staff is very friendly and very nice and helpful, they give you great tips of the area. We stayed in a room facing away from the freeway, and slept with the windows open, no disturbing noises.'

'We had a room on the 8th floor which was spacious and clean. We did have some airco noise and weird knocking noise from the elevator shaft (we think) which was annoying at night. Pool was nice and location was good for watersports and running. Restaurant has great staff but menu is limited. The gym was crowded in the morning but really quiet in afternoon.'

'WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!! My family reserved a total of six rooms for my niece’s graduation weekend, unaware that the hotel was hosting an adult anime-themed event during the same dates. Throughout our stay, the atmosphere was loud, and the constant activity in the hallways made many of us feel uncomfortable and unsafe. On our final night, we even had to contact hotel security because one of our rooms was located directly outside the conference area where the event was being...

'As far as a basic room goes, it was small, super clean and comfortable. However, I could hear the neighbor walking upstairs, and it woke me up super early. The bathtub also could have used a renovation. Even though it was clean, the enamel had worn off and it gave a look that didn’t make it inviting to get in. There also a lot of smokers outside the lobby so even though the rooms are nonsmoking, you still get the smell of the second hand smoke when you’re waiting to be picked up outside. Fine...

'We had a room facing the freeway. The room has very thin windows so it was very noisy. Also the air conditioner was so loud that we needed to turn it off to be able to sleep. Breakfast was ok but not much variety. The rooms were clean though. Parking is paying (24 dollars a night) but you can park in the street in front of the hotel for free. '
