'My friend (with infant) and I came to the island to visit and soak up some nature. Our stay in Buckley Bay provided beautiful views of the bay, with frequent visits from the seals and otters. The location, while a little ways outside of the main centres, was only a short drive to get to a cafe, nature walks, and restaurants. The house feels very spacious with large bedrooms and ample sitting space to cozy up with a cup of tea or good book.'

'The house is designed perfectly for a small family reunion. We celebrated a 90th birthday and it was brilliant. We had dinner parties for 20, using the ample and well-appointed kitchen. It was easy to be all together in the great room, or spread out slightly for smaller conversations on the huge deck or in adjoining tv room.'

'Keyo is an amazing host and the pictures are lovely but this place has so much more magic, peace and light than the pictures could ever display. The bed was so comfortable. This place is about connecting to nature or whatever your soul needs to nourish you and enhance your life experience. So many walks and beaches available or you can just sit and enjoy. This place is awesome!'

'The cabin itself is close to perfect; spacious; all amenities present and....what a view! Everytime you walk into the main living space you will be stopped in your paces by the view! There is however quite a note; as peaceful as the views are; they are counteracted by the noise of the highway. Sitting on the deck is not that peaceful with permanent car/truck/bike noises. The public access parking is also right next to the property.'

'My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the cottage with our baby and 2 small dogs. It had everything we needed, including a big yard for the dogs to run around in. Tons of things to do nearby with the dogs, including the fantastic trails right next door in Seal Bay (including a beautiful walk to the ocean where we saw Seals and Bald Eagles everytime). There is also a dog friendly leash optional sand beach (Saratoga Beach) within a 20 min drive. Andrea is a fantastic host and we look forward to...

'We had a great week at this beautiful place right on the beach. The kids loved playing (collecting all kinds of little sea creatures) and swimming right at our door step. It gave us as parents plenty of time to relax as they were always in sight and we could just stay at the cottage. The place itself was very spacious, clean and well-equipped. The owners were quick to respond to any of our questions in satisfactory way. All in all a great place to spend time in the heart of Vancouver Island.'

'My friend and I were looking for a quiet house in the woods for a few days and this place was just that. The view from the balcony (when it’s not foggy) was so nice and peaceful to enjoy after a long day. Everything inside was clean and tidy. Keep in mind that this house is located on a windy dirt road at the top of a hill. Wasn’t an issue for us and the dry conditions we had but just thought it should be mentioned. It definitely adds to the “remote, woodsy” feel of the place though'

'All in all a great place to stay awhile and put up your feet. Arrival logistics were seamless. We enjoyed our 1 week stay. Hiked local trails and frequently walked beaches and beach trails. The home was well equipped and had all of the facilities for a comfortable living. Enjoyed the wood burning fireplace during the cool nights. The hosts, who were near by, were very supportive and pleasant to deal with.'

'Property was fairly clean, there were a couple of , looked like blood spots on the kitchen floor, and the sheets in the master bed had stains(hopefully!) on them. The master bed didn’t have a top sheet so it got hot not having anything but a duvet. The blinds were white so you were up when the sun rose. Our daughters said the mattresses in the bunk weren’t comfortable but overall a good rental on a quiet street.'

'We loved the location. Being able to walk off our patio right to the pool was great, and having the big lawn as a backyard was a ton of fun. Also, the kitchen was well stocked with spices, sugar, oil, etc and the BBQ was great! We were also pleasantly surprised that the patio furniture had been updated since the photos were taken. Unfortunately when we arrived the whole place smelled like cigarettes and the TV was turned up to 48 volume - I’m assuming there were some partiers staying before...

"De keuze voor hotels voor iemand die geen hoofdprijs wil betalen in deze omgeving is beperkt, ook dit hotel valt zeker niet in de categorie voordelig maar het is betaalbaar. De kamers zijn schoon maar erg klein, amper plek om de koffers te openen, wel twee slaapkamer(tjes)en keukentje wat prettig is. We kregen een mail dat we moesten inchecken voor 17.00 wat bijna niet mogelijk is met de wegafsluiting, gelukkig was het geen probleem dat we later waren maar het voelde wel ongemakkelijk. En dan t grote probleem vooral als je met een puber reist, de kwaliteit van de WiFi was echt heel slecht, je werd er constant afgegooid en alles was zeer traag."
