'Perhaps it's my fault for not reading the initial listing for Guest House 32 closely enough, but I was unaware the toilet and shower were shared. The Expedia listing is confusing because it clearly states: "Extra conveniences in all rooms include: Rainfall showers and hair dryers". Yet my room did not include a shower or a toilet and was right across the hall from the single shared toilet. They had a sign at the front desk declaring a no noise policy from 10 pm to 8am, yet straight upon my...

'We had a great trip. Ludmil is a wonderful host! We enjoyed the different Bulgarian pastries each morning & his chats about Bulgarian history, plus advice on where to go & how to get there. He also took us one day to Rila Monastery, a trout restaurant & Boyana Church. This was a more relaxing trip than if we'd gone on a coach tour! '

'The ensuite room was clean and cosy with a lovely view of the garden. Breakfast was delicious and healthy, made fresh each day. When we requested dinner, this was also delicious and at a good price.The location was close some lovely towns and only 2.5hrs from Sofia. Wifi had good connectivity. The hosts were very friendly, had lots of suggestions for places to see and where to eat. They catered to us perfectly. Looking forward to coming again. '

'From the very beginning we could tell the hotel was going to be terrible, we booked a pool view room and got a dank and dark ground floor room. We stayed five nights. We complained about the room on the second day because you could hear everyone else's septic waste running through our bathroom, very loudly. 'I have been going to Bulgaria for the past twenty years and the country has developed in leaps and bounds. But it has to be said that many areas of the country retain both their culture and way of life and this is true of this Hotel. Unfortunately, they have also retained standards which many, in today's world, would now find unacceptable. 'Horrible, just horrible. Please stay away from this one. Dirty, staff unwilling to assist with anything. Everything is at an extra charge (spa towels, etc.). Worst bed I've ever slept in and just overall terrible. '

"Het was een zeer fijn hotel. Goede bedden, goed ontbijt en een zeer fijne locatie in het centrum zonder daar overlast van te hebben. Echt een aanrader!"

"Bon rapport qualité/prix. L'hôtel n'est pas en plein centre ville mais à proximité immédiate de tram, métro et gare... il est donc aisé et rapide de rejoindre le centre. Le personnel était sympathique et efficace. La chambre propre et fonctionnelle. Le petit déjeuner compris était un plus. Simple mais suffisamment varié (et aux horaires appréciables : ouverture assez tôt si des excursions sont prévues dans la journée, et assez tard pour des jours où on veut rester plus longtemps au lit). "

"The hotel is located relative far and isolated from airport and one needs a shuttle or expensive taxi (there are no Bolts or Uebers in Bulgaria) to reach the Airport: so don't see this as a time saving option, but could be at very early departures, when there is no Metro/subway running. Walking from hotel to Airport [with suitcases] is not the (10 or 12 minutes) option! The metro or taxi from the city center or vincinity is (more) convenient. Another point of attention. We arrived at 21.30 and the restaurant/cantine? was closing, no longer serving (heated up?) meals, instead we were offered; a cold, soft, sticky to teeth white bread junkfood sandwich from an expensive vendingmachine. The bar was a minimum on atmosphere. The breakfast typical american, enough, but soft and tasteless. Many pilots, some business people,..as such, a minimum on human interaction. Don't recommend it for young adventorous and with kids. The night staff is not the source of help you expect in emergencies. The manager comes only in at 11.00 AM. The wide open environment between the industrial like buildings despite is quite large andopen, with bushes and trees, .AND .there are beautifull large herds with cows and (wild?) horses. A pleasure to see (nature), in a depressingly created (stamped out americanized franchised business world) and ACCEPTED by non inspiring guests. "
