Reizen naar Noord-Captiva moet beginnen met het controleren van geweldige vluchten naar een van de grote internationale luchthavens in de buurt. SW Florida International (RSW) is een rustige en handige luchthaven om te doorkruisen. Meestal op één niveau en zeer gemakkelijk om de parkeerterreinen te bereiken, navigeren is echt een plezier. De luchthaven van Punta Gorda (PGD) wordt niet onderhouden door luchtvaartmaatschappijen van Allegiant en Frontier, tussen deze twee providers is er nu een toegangspoort voor rechtstreekse vluchten vanuit veel meer steden en tegen voordelige kosten om op te starten.



Met de auto

Vanuit het zuiden of noorden van I-75
Ga vanaf I-75 (afslag 143) of US 41 naar het westen op Pine Island Rd. (State Road 78) en vervolgens rechtsaf Stringfellow Rd. (State Road 767) in Pine Island Center. Drie mijl naar beneden, ga linksaf op Pineland Road. Dit wordt Waterfront Drive en u ziet de jachthaven aan de linkerkant, genesteld aan de oevers van Pine Island Sound.

* Belangrijke informatie: als u vanaf Ft Myers International (RSW) met de luchthaven rijdt, moet u ongeveer 1 uur rijden naar het North Captiva Welcome / Embarkation Centre in Betsy Parkway, naar Pineland Marina of naar Four Winds Marina. Als u boodschappen doet, moet u rekening houden met nog eens 45 minuten en zorg ervoor dat u minstens 15 minuten voor uw geplande watertaxi-vertrek aankomt bij de welkomstcentra of jachthavens.

Brengt u naar de jachthavens van Pine Island: de tarieven zijn ongeveer $ 60 voor een enkele reis en vereisen een reservering door te bellen naar:

Uber-chauffeurs kunnen u ophalen op de grote luchthaven RSW of PGD. De rijtijd is ongeveer hetzelfde als die van het taxibedrijf, maar u kunt wat meer wachttijd hebben als uw chauffeur niet op de luchthaven staat te wachten tot u arriveert.

Stel uw kompaslagers in op 195 graden van de markering en u wordt meteen naar "The Fish House" gebracht. Betreed Safety Harbor rond het schiereiland en volg de Markers naar Hidden Cove. Ontmoet ons in de haven en u zult "op eilandtijd" zijn.

De veerdienst gaat rechtstreeks naar North Captiva Island Club Dock en de rit duurt ongeveer 20 minuten. Kijk uit voor dolfijnen en andere plaatselijke dieren in het wild.

Ferry tickets gereserveerd op Just for Fun kunnen worden gecoördineerd met bagagebezorging bij uw eiland thuis.
Bagage rijdt gescheiden van de passagiers en komt via uw NCIC-personeel bij uw accommodatie aan. In piekweken is het belangrijk te weten dat er vertragingen kunnen optreden bij de bezorging van bagage als passagiers een grote hoeveelheid bagage / boodschappen meenemen. Zoals elk resort, is het het beste om vooruit te plannen en waardevolle spullen te beschermen tegen schade door lading (laptops, cellen, ipads, portefeuilles), een zwempak om in te veranderen, medicijnen, babyartikelen en alles wat vatbaar is voor onmiddellijk bederf (ijs, vers zeevruchten) en in de hand gedragen op de passagiersboot, dus je hebt het meteen bij aankomst op je eiland. Bagage zal volgen naar uw bestemming.

Barnacle's Waterfront Restaurant serveert dagelijks lunch en diner met authentieke diners aan het water en een klassiek menu met gerechten in eilandstijl.
Wereldberoemd om hun interpretatie van het Caribische nietje, zwarte bonen en gele rijst, maar hun menu biedt ook decadente krabkoekjes, schelpbeignets en nog veel meer.
Verse visgerechten en uitstekende cheeseburgers in het paradijs wachten op u! Deze drukke kleine hangout op het eiland is een geweldige bestemming voor zowel lokale watersporters als eilandgasten.

Als je op een zondag bezoekt, kun je buiten ook live muziek vangen onder de Chickee.

Dineren in een van de weinige overgebleven restaurants in Florida is een heerlijke ervaring. Het zonneterras buiten biedt dineren met het glinsterende water van de haven om u heen. Misschien zwemmen de dolfijnen gewoon langs en bezoeken ze terwijl je dineert ...

This home was perfect for our family of 4 and was exactly as described. The golf cart was in the shop, so the owners rented one for us to use. It was so much fun cruising around the island, loading it up with the beach chairs and umbrellas to go to the beach and taking it to see the sunsets. We didn't use the kayaks, because it seemed a bit far to walk them to the beach, but it would have been doable. There were bikes, but only 1 was usable after a little work. All tires were flat and seats were loose and the pump that was there didn't work. We asked for help and a staff member was sent with a pump, but didn't have any tools to fix the seats. So one ended up usable enough for my son to ride around, but don't depend on these for family rides. Some of the bikes were so rusted out that they just need to be trashed. This didn't affect our stay, though. The golf cart got us around and it wasn't a far walk to the beaches either. We did the grocery delivery and it was so nice to just arrive and have everything there ready to use. We also did a mid-week liquor order and that worked out great. we thought internet would be a problem based on other reviews, but it was fine for watching movies in the evening and surfing facebook during some downtime. We can't wait to go back!

From the moment we arrived, everything was great! We were greeted at the docks with a golf cart that came with the house and golf cart and trailer to take all of our things to the house. We thought we brought way to much stuff and we were worried about how to get it to the house, but the trailer could have taken sooo much more if we needed it to. Once we got to the house, our driver helped us inside with our things and offered to give us a tour of the island (we declined because my husband and I like to explore anyway). The house was clean and smelled of all the wood inside which was nice. Everything that was offered in the listing was available to us to use and we utilized everything…kayaks, bikes and especially the golf cart! My only complaints were that the bed was a little too firm for my liking and when we went to take the bikes out all the tires were flat. There was a pump there but it was broken. We contacted the property manager and they actually let us go to another house and borrow a different pump. Overall, we would definitely stay here again! We had an amazing time!

This is our 2nd time to North Captiva and our 1st stay at the vintage charming Seaclusion Too. The location on the island is indeed somewhat secluded which is nice. You are near both "Sunset" and "Dolphin" beach which is also a nice perk. The current management group is awesome. Easy to get ahold of, organized and promptly reply if needed. We liked the privacy, big front porch - perfect for bird and wildlife watching, well stocked kitchen with olive oil/spices/pam, RO water filter (so helpful), french press, awesome comfortable king bed, great a/c, washer/dryer, nice kayaks and trailer, beach chairs and golf cart. A few things do need some updates ASAP. The house needs lighting badly. Almost all of the kitchen island lights were burned out and there was minimal overhead lighting. The back bedroom window does not stay closed and there were cracks in the living room windows and screens. Because of this flies will overtake your living space and kitchen. Wi-fi is extremely slow, which can be expected on a remote island. Shower water pressure is also an issue. You will need mosquito repellent spray in the Summer months! We also brought mosquito coils which helped and of course hydrocortisone cream. Trust me! Overall we'd stay here again if updates were made. Thanks for the great, relaxing vacation!

Quaint home, very comfortable, rustic feel. Welcoming front porch, and eating area on lower level. As advertised. Property was clean. Golf cart inclusion was greatly welcomed to get around the island. Use of bikes, kayaks, washer, dryer, and newer appliances and grill was welcomed. Only a few of the bikes were operable (rusted chains, seized wheels, flat/punctured tires). Would recommend those items be disposed for safety. Golf cart alignment suggested, but safe to operate. Golf cart use charge indicator gives false reading. Kayaks were useable with safety vests; however, must be willing to walk kayaks to insertion areas using the kayak pull cart. Available internet less than 1M of available bandwidth. With many items connected, very slow response. May impact work connection or even TV viewing. Kitchen cabinets are of an older age and did have a smell when opened. But dishes, pans, pots, baking sheets, utensils were plenty. Only item missing was an oyster shucker. Highly recommend property, as location, comfort, amenities were spot on for a nice quiet, comfortable get-away.

Perfect size house for my husband and our 2 kids on spring break. Beautiful as the rest of the island, more secluded than other VRBOs due to the empty lots surrounding. The house is very clean, comfortable and functional. A few minor cleaning/maintenance issues that did not affect our stay. Sean and Ally were easily reached by text and promptly met us for check-in and check-out.

From the minute we set foot in the house we felt at home!! Our property Managers , Shally's Seashells, were by far the best !!! They responded immediately every time we contacted them and started our Island vacation off perfectly! Seaclusion Too is a hidden treasure, just perfect for 4 and comfortable inside and out and having it's on golf.cart is definitely a plus!! Easy walking access to sunrise or sunset beaches on either end of the runway. I explained it to friends as being on the "quiet side" of the island. The front porch was perfect morning and evening relaxing spot especially if you like birds💖 We were sad to have to go, thank you for the opportunity to stay in your beautiful home, it was a picture perfect unique vacation!

The golf cart and kayaks were nice to have! The location on the island was very quite. The house has pretty much everything you need for your stay. Had a few issues, nothing major, the key in the lock box did not work for the handle lock of the door. We just ended up not using the key since there was a code system for the dead bolt. Would have liked the couch and chairs to have linens or covers on them so they could be washed in between guest. Could use some lights under the house so you can see to use the grill at night. The fireplace was just for show but since it was actually cold during our stay we were disappointed we couldn't use it. Would have loved the Keurig to come with k-cups because it's hard to use a whole 24 pack from the store in 1 week. Overall this was a good experience but not sure if we'd do it again primarily because of the high cost of getting to and staying on the island.

IT WAS INFESTED WITH ANTS, THE BBQ GRILL DID NOT WORK, ALL THE WINDOWS WERE BROKEN AND WOULD NOT CLOSE THEREFORE COULD NOT USE THE AIR CONDITIONER. THE PORCH WAS ROTTEN AND FALLING DOWN, THE STAIR RAILING WAS NOT SECURE AND DANGEROUS, AND THE PROPERTY MANAGERS "SHALLY SOMETHING" TOLD THE OWNER THAT WE WERE NOT HAPPY WITH THE HOUSE INSTEAD OF ASKING FOR THE REPAIRS THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE. THEY ALSO LIED TO THE OWNER AND TOLD HIM WE CALLED HIM A BUNCH OF NAMES AND SAID BAD THINGS ABOUT HIM AND HIS HOUSE WHEN ALL WE WERE TRYING TO DO IS TO GET THE REPAIRS THAT IT NEEDED. THEREFORE MY DISSABLED HUSBAND AND I A 65 YEAR OLD WERE TOLD TO GET OFF THE PROPERTY WITHIN 24 HOURS AND IF WE DIDN'T DO THIS REVIEW HE WOULD REFUND OUR MONEY ....WHICH HE HAS NOT DONE YET AND WE LEFT THERE OVER 2 WEEKS AGO ON NEW YEARS EVE. WE HAD NEVER BEEN TO AN ISLAND AND THEY DID NOT HELP US NAVIGATE THE TRAVEL TO AND FROM THE ISLAND. THE PROPERTY MANAGER COMPANY SHALLY SOMETHING WAS RUN BY A VERY YOUNG MARRIED COUPLE THAT ARE NOT EXPERIENCED IN PROPER BUSINESS EDICATE AND TREATED US VERY DISREPECTFULLY. I ALSO HAVE PICTURES OF THE BROKEN ITEMS THAT WERE UNSAFE AND VIDEOS OF THE OTHER REPAIRS FOR THE CLOSET AND LAMPS AND LIGHTS AND WINDOWS THAT WOULD NOT WORK. I WOULD GLADLY SEND THEM TO YOU. TO DATE WE HAVE NOT GOTTEN OUR REFUND AS HE PROMISSED AND I ALSO HAVE THE TEXTS THAT HE SENT THRU VRBO THAT HE WAS ISSUING THE CREDIT AND THE AMOUNT IS ALSO ON THE MESSAGES ON VRBO SITE. CAN YOU HELP US COMPLETE THE BUSINESS WITH THIS OWNER FOR OUR REFUND PLEASE AND THANK YOU

Charming, eclectic cottage located within walking distance of beautiful beach. Sean, Ally and Brian were most helpful with grocery shopping, fresh fish and even a liquor run. The cottage was well equipped, clean and stocked with plenty of towels, linens, detergents and bathroom supplies. Lots of wildlife to see from the porch, by golf cart or bicycle. Look for the manatees, the beautiful giant pileated woodpeckers in the trees by the front porch, raccoons, and lots of nesting ospreys. And, oh, the beautiful sunrises and sunsets can’t be beat!

We had a fantastic time on the island! The house was nice but the bikes were in terrible condition, the golf cart battery had issues and at one point when we were on the opposite end of the island would only go backwards so we had to go in reverse the whole way home. We requested towels, washcloths and basic cleaning items and Ally was responsive. Hubby left brand new hearing aids and when cleaners found them she shipped them home. I would stay again but would check to make sure bikes and golf cart were in top top shape. The grocery store on island is minimal and expensive so make sure to bring your own drinks and food!

I am a luxury travel writer. I've traveled around the world many times staying at the finest five star++ establishments - some so exclusive they are only known to those in the know. This was an escape I chose to take with my family, to step away from everything. I only wished to relax, revive and regenerate after what has undoubtedly been a trying time for most. I sought old world tradition, style and ambiance - a return to a time and place uncomplicated by the "grid." What we discovered was a haven where time stood still. The inviting, warm wood-styled home welcomed us with "old Florida" grace through high ceilings and decor reminiscent of a Hemingway novel while also providing the creature comforts of all the modern upgrades we appreciate. The stresses of everyday life disappeared while resting on the patio surrounded by warm breezes, the soft music of the wooden pelican wind chime and some of Mother Nature's finest handiwork. We met our neighbor - a rare gopher tortoise my son named Benjamin who was friendly although understandably more focused on eating than fraternizing. When a coconut fell from the tree, we opened it and showed my son how to drink and eat from this miraculous fruit. Our days were filled with exploration - jetting around the sandy roads on the snazzy golf cart, waving and chatting with other residents - everyone is so friendly, and who wouldn't be in such paradise! We rode the bikes on lush jungle trails, scouted for bobcat footprints and skimmed through the canals straight out of Disney's Jungle Cruise on the kayaks. We gathered the beach chairs and enjoyed front row seats for the stellar sunrises on one side of the island and the even more spectacular sunsets on the other. Needless to say, N. Capitva is aptly named as I was captivated, entirely. There is magic in this place. The worries of the world simply vanish, no abracadabra required - just a reservation.

This place is awesome. We just left from a full week stay here and loved every minute. The unit is a full house that worked great for my family of 3 little kids. They provided everything needed to be on the island including dock pick up, bag transport and a golf cart for getting around the island. This place is old world Florida and felt like we were off the grid. We will absolutely be coming back. The owners were great to work with every step of the way. The island is so small that you get to see the sunrise and sunset. We loved it.

We enjoyed everything about our stay. It was a lot different from what we typically do, but we had such a good time, we’re already trying to decide when we can return. No time schedule, no agenda, no traffic, really, there is nothing to stress over, once you’re there. But even getting there was no hassle. We easily found transportation both, land and water taxis were a pleasant part of our trip as well. The house is rustic, but updated, and very comfortable. Everything we needed was there. The staff checking us in, and getting us settled, was super friendly, and relaxed. No stress...that’s how we felt, and why were so impressed with this house and vacation spot! We’ll definitely return!

This was our first trip to North Captiva Island and halfway through the week we were already planning our second trip! Tortuga Property Management (Lori and Duncan) were AMAZING to work with, their detailed notes regarding groceries, transportation from the airport and arranging for our water taxi were incredibly detailed and easy to follow. We appreciated their follow-ups to ensure we had everything we needed. We enjoy a great escape and family time, so Seaclusion Too was the perfect property for us. Our house was well appointed and certainly exceeded our expectations!

This cottage is just amazing, with every thing needed to spend a great vacation Lots of updates, beautiful bedrooms and modern kitchen. we celebrated my wife birthday the trip was everything we hoped for and more. The Owner and the Duncan staff are Great !!! Looking forward our next trip.
