'A lovely apartment in an old house in the center of the village. Easy to get into Alba and to shops. Good walking around the village as well as paths close by through the vineyeards. Great space and fantastic views. Very comfortable and everything you need. Hosts also live on property - and while our Italian is very limited and they have little English - we communicated OK and they were very friendly and generous.'

'Roberta en Mariangela reserved us a warm welcome upon arrival with flowers, pasta, sauce, typical biscuits from the area. The communication with Roberta was excellent before and during our stay in Castino. (we arrived much later than foreseen due to traffic problems). The house was very clean and the comfort of the bed was exemplary. In the house you find everything you need in order to live comfortably. There are a lot of brochures about the area. The quality of the wifi network is perfect....

'The property itself is very nicely renovated and has a high quality touch and feel. Castino is nicely located to explore the Langhe. However, after renting holiday properties for almost 15 years we dare say that this one has let us down in several aspects. First and foremost it is not equipped sufficiently to serve 4 adults leave alone the 8 advertised. I.e. we only found a 2 cup Bialetti Mokka maker and a 4 cup filter coffee maker in the entire house; there were only 4 big coffee mugs for all...

'Our family of 4 had a lovely holiday in Piemonte. The house itself is spacious, convenient and tastefully decorated; the views outside are spectacular. Our kids (2 and 6) had the best time. Brian and Dianne are the perfect hosts: very helpful, yet discrete. They will make you feel at home in no time. We made trips to Asti, Alba, and the Langhe/Roero area, but there are some smaller towns nearby that are worth visiting as well. Brian and Dianne will tell you all about them. We highly recommend!'

'We (a couple with a daughter of 2) had a great start of our Italian summer holiday at Marisa's place in Bonvicino. Although we didn't speak the same language, the communication was easy. The apartment is very nice and cosy. Everything is on the same level and connected (no doors, but for us that wasn't a problem) so our daughter specifically enjoyed running around the place. The view from the terrace is quite spectacular and the pool was a real treat!'

'Ruhiger und entspannter, ursprünglicher Ort für erholsame Ferien. Etwas abseits gelegen, dies sollte man bei täglichen Fahrtstrecken einberechnen. Dafür wundervolle Gastgeber, 2 tolle Hunde und viel Ruhe und Beschaulichkeit. Wir haben zudem viel gelernt über das Kultivieren von Haselnüssen - die Tour mit Essen ist sehr zu empfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!'

'Ons verblijf in Casa di Yorik is heerlijk geweest. Een mooi huis, met grote slaapkamers en badkamers en met een goed uitgeruste keuken. Het heeft een grote tuin met een heerlijk zwembad. Het huis ligt vrij centraal voor een bezoek aan de verschillende dorpjes/steden en wijngebieden in de buurt. Complimenten voor de eigenaar Andrea! Hij is zeer gastvrij, behulpzaam en staat altijd voor je klaar! We hebben met 2 gezinnen genoten van een heerlijke vakantieweek!!'

'Leuk, compleet en ruim huis met veel mogelijkheden om je zowel bij het huis als in de omgeving te vermaken. Mede door het prachtige weer hebben we een fijne week gehad. Het contact met de eigenaar was erg goed. Ondanks dat hij op afstand is, regelde hij indien nodig dat de zaken adequaat werden afgehandeld. Goede service! De aanwezigheid van een zwembad is echt van meerwaarde. Verder is er rond het huis ruime zitgelegenheid. De woning biedt datgene wat in de omschrijving wordt vermeld.'

'Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen! Das Haus und die Umgebung sind traumhaft schön! Mit den Vermietern war der Kontakt sehr unkompliziert und nett! Einziger Kritikpunkt ist, dass die Sauberkeit in den Bädern nicht dem Standard entspricht (Abfluss in der Wanne mit vielen Haaren der Vorgänger. Ein bisschen Schimmel in der Dusch- und Badewanne) Für den Restmüll fanden wir keine Möglichkeit der Entsorgung und mussten ihn in öffentlichen Behältern entsorgen. Trotzdem würden wir das Haus...

'It was hard to decide between restaurant options and staying on property with our own wine to simply enjoy the view of the rolling hills, not to mention the gardens on the well kept property itself, so we did both! The tender, loving care bestowed upon the villa by Claudia and Livio over 20 years is apparent in every furnishing and every bloom… we even found ourselves greeted with classical music in the lobby and handwritten notes that added to the charm of the experience. 'Very nice house, garden and swimming pool. Each bedroom has a full bathroom annex which is very comfortable. The bathrooms are older design but still function well. The kitchen and living room(s) are large and nice. The contact with the owner was excellent and she reacted promptly when we had a problem. The contact with the lady that lives there was also very nice. We had a nice wine tastingin the garden one day. Overall, it was an excellent stay for us (6 adults and 5 children).'

Viel Platz, schöne moderne Einrichtung, voll ausgestattete Küche, schöner Pool, sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Vermieter, alles hat sehr gut funktioniert. Punktabzüge bei der Lage: die Straße im Ort und die Schnellstraße weiter oben waren lauter als erwartet, und das Angebot an Restaurants in Plodio und den Nachbarorten hat uns nicht überzeugt.'
