'I spent every summer of my childhood in Oakwood, so I know the cottage well. It used to belong to Rev. Ross Cook. My grandparents were George and Marie Cook (no relation to Rev. Cook) and they built the cottage at 1019 S Lake Dr. They worked at the old hotel every summer for decades. My dad also worked there during his teen years and so did I. I loved the view of the park. I spent so many happy hours there as a kid, and my granddaughters had just as much fun as I ever did. So, I am not your...

'We had an absolutely amazing time. We loved fishing off the back deck everyday and playing UNO every night. The place was a perfect size for a vacation rental. The beds were extremely comfortable and the minisplit AC units kept us cool. If we ever go back to this area this will be at the top of our list to stay at.'

'It was a very nice place to stay while visiting Chain O Lakes State Park. I stayed here with my father when we weren't hiking. The place is small, but efficient with its use of space. It was very clean, and the checkin/checkout processes were simple and easy.We were able to cook our own breakfast each morning, and relax on the couch and watch TV each evening. Churobusco had some nice restaurants and a nearby IGA to pick up groceries/supplies.All of the trees out front were redbuds and we...

'This property has amazing space for large groups with very comfortable sleeping spaces that are perfectly separated from the living and activity spaces. Being right on the lake at a prime location provides beautiful views of the majority of the lake with great access for water-based activities. The house has many amenities, a beautiful and functional kitchen and living areas, and is perfect for groups of any variety, from a family gathering to a bachelor party.'

'We stayed as we were passing through to Michigan. The place was very clean and well kept on the inside, and looked as though some improvements were being made to the outside. Communication was prompt and concise. We had an 8 month old infant and a 2 year old toddler. Both were well accommodated here. The steps were steep, so not super toddler friendly, unless they do well with the steps. Everything else was great!'

'Six girls stayed at this rental for a Fort Wayne bachelorette. It was a convenient distance from Downtown Fort Wayne. The beds were big enough that we were able to share two to a bed instead of breaking out the cot and sleeping on the couch. 'This was the perfect stay for our family of four (parents and two teens). The kitchen was just the right size for vacation cooking and the grill was nice to use for a couple meals. Beds were comfortable and the deck was the best part. We ate every meal outside, watching the sun change over the water. The kayaks were a huge draw and we used those extensively. The bathroom was spotless and just the right size. Definitely would recommend. '
