'We had a very very nice stay of one night during our Welsh road trip. Very friendly staff. Everything very well organised even if it was very busy on the Saturday night. Good food for diner, excellent breakfast. If you are looking for a superb inn in original style and in a very nice place, this is it.'

'Great location, 10 mins from Chester. The spa was not overcrowded and the Japanese themed garden was very peaceful. Very clean and comfortable room. We didn’t use the restaurant but the bar staff were very polite and friendly. All in all, very enjoyable and relaxing stay. Would highly recommend. '

'Wonderful place to stay, overlooking the estuary and castle. Would recommend keeping the curtains closed if you have a shared terrace room - we had a few people drifting past taking photos of the castle when we were not dressed for such guests. '

'We stay at the hotel once a year as a treat. It’s such a unique and friendly hotel with fantastic staff. It’s a very old hotel but they keep it updated but somethings like not having walk in showers might put some off as the shower is a curtain around the bath but that just adds to the charm for us. Chester is a lovely place to visit and the hotel is in a great location. '

'De internetprijs bij gebruik van eigen laptop was hoog, en bij gebruik van de hotelcomputer maar liefst het dubbele! Het ontbijt was ook heel duur, maar wij hadden gelukkig ons eigen brood. Het personeel was aardig en de kamer was voortdurend in orde. Het verblijf was zeer aangenaam, en het hotel staat in een rustige buurt.'

'We enjoyed our short stay. The house is big, with a garden with swings etc our child and we loved, a decked terrace to enjoy the views, dedicated barbecue area etc. Spacious bedrooms. The beach and town centre is only a short walk away. It was great to have all the essentials made available. Hope we can return one day with our extended family! '
