One of the most picturesque state parks in Georgia, Watson Mill Bridge contains the longest covered bridge in the state, spanning 229 feet across the South Fork River. Built in 1885 by Washington (W.W.) King, son of freed slave and famous covered-bridge builder Horace King, the bridge is supported by a town lattice truss system held firmly together with wooden pins. At one time, Georgia had more than 200 covered bridges; today, less than 20 remain

Built in 1885 and spanning 229 feet. What's wonderful about this covered bridge, besides it's beautiful setting, is that you can still drive or walk across it.
Not many of these old bridges are still around. This one is in excellent condition. Great place to go play in the water and picnic.

Staff were extremely friendly and the whole hotel was very clean and presentable. Breakfast was delicious at the Bistro and the room was very clean and comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay in this home in Athens. It was clean and had plenty of space inside for sleeping - 3 bedrooms with double beds. The two bathrooms were a little small, but they worked for our short stay in Athens. We had lots of parking space for cars and tailgating. A nice size yard for the kids ...
