'This place has so much potential, but sorry to say it falls short- very short! Our biggest problem with this rental was the overall lack of cleanliness and the misrepresentation of the unit. The pictures and the listed description absolutely do not truthfully represent the unit. It looked abandoned. Cobwebs everywhere, the outside cushions were all damp, moldy, and smelly. Tiki bar full of junk that was damp, moldy and full of cobwebs. The pathway lights down to the dock are ripped out and...

'We had an incredible stay! The apartment is very comfortable, cozy, and quiet. The full kitchen with vintage styled (yet modern) appliances is a definite plus. We look forward to staying there the next time we are in Albemarle. LJ is an amazing host!! '

'Beautifully remodeled older building. The bathroom was especially lovely. Kitchen was small but usuable (we didn't cook). Wonderful dining space and TV area. The neighborhood is a little noisy...probobly only noticable to us as we like to sleep with windows open. We will stay again.'

'Host was pleasant in messages so I went against my better judgement and didn't take pictures of the lack of cleaning, and how badly the place was built. Thought it would be ok for the 2 days I was staying. The issues: Cobwebs on the fan, dirt and more cobwebs in the corner by the pullout, smudges on the walls (especially behind the faucet in the bathroom), marks on walls, stains on comforter, black smudges on wash cloth, and sheet, stain on shower curtain, shower handle fell off, curtian rod...

'The overall look of the apartment and cleanliness get a solid 4 stars. The only negative in this category was the pizza boxes left in the oven from a previous renter. The reason I am giving a 2-star rating is that the thermostat did not work. We like cool sleeping conditions, and each night we set the thermostat to cool at 68 degrees, we would wake up, and the apartment was 55 degrees. During the day, we would set it to heat at 68 degrees, and each day we returned, the temperature was 85...
