'Sterk verouderd hotel. Daar is de prijs ook naar. Prima ontbijt en ideale locatie aan het strand en op 15 minuten rijden van de mooie wegen in Lake District. Bar en eten was top! Toilet bediening werkte niet erg goed. In het hotel hing een wat muffe lucht.'

'Aardig hotel na grondige renovatie, bij ons 400 waren de gordijnen nog niet vervangen. En in badkamer al eerst schimmelplekjes. Erg jammer. Ergste is eigenlijk de manager eigenaar van het restaurant. Eerst betalen voor je een diner geserveerd krijg, aan de bar bestellen! De keuken is wel erg goed.'

'Such a great room, especially with a dog. We had a door straight out in to a lsmall beer garden. Absolutely huge shower & extra large room were great too. Extremely good value room & very quiet. We also ate there on the evening & food was really good, all home made & a cheesecake to die for. We were doing a charity walk nearby at Buttermere on the Sat so it was perfectly positioned for us. Thanks again.'

'We had a lovely one night stay. We were warmly greeted and our room was spacious, up quite a few stairs so beware if you have heavy cases. We enjoyed a swim in the pool and used the hot tub. A well equipped gym was also available. The pool was very clean and a pleasant temperature. These facilities were all included in the room price but there is a limited timetable when you can use the pool due to lesson and member sessions. We ate dinner at the hotel which was very tasty and well presented....

'The rooms were so dirty, Its like entering a once verry nice house. But the moment you enter the room it smells duff and diguisting. The rooms are weird when you enter you immidiatly go down a bunch of stairs. The bathroom looks like it hasnt been cleaned in centuries and the tiles of the floor are lose. My bed had a blood stain from someone on the blanket witch was disguisting. Dont recommend staying here unless you absolutely have to!!! Personel was nice tho'

'Excellent hotel, nothing to complain about. Stayed here to go to scafell pike which was around 25 minutes drive away. Also a beach around 10 minutes drive away. Hotel has a large car park, great outdoor space to sit as well. Only down side was we went to pool room and it was locked, got the staff to open it and got change for the table from the bar. Just as we were going to start playing noticed one cue was broken in half and the other the tip was missing. Dart board not in the best condition....

'This is a delightful property with a lovely host. It isn’t anything flash but if you’re looking for quaint and original then this is perfect. It is an older house so has the creaky floor boards and matching decor. Bathroom is clean and newer. Slices were provided on arrival and a beautiful English breakfast included the next morning. Was able to go for walk down to the nearby lake and take in the surrounding beauty. Would be a great place to base yourself for exploring the lakes district...
