Disappointing Stay at La Quinta
**Aged Facilities and Safety Concerns**
The hotel's age and lack of renovation are noticeable, but it's the safety concerns that are the most pressing issue. We checked in on Friday and on our Sunday night stay, at least six cars were broken into, with one truck having all its windows smashed out and its contents scattered across the parking lot. This is unacceptable and a major concern for any traveler.
**Staff Awareness and Lack of Action**
While the staff was friendly and accommodating, it's clear that they are aware of the issue and take steps to cover it up quickly. By 9 am on Monday morning, after all the cops and evidence of the broken glass was gone. However, we noticed broken car window glass and empty beer bottles on the way to our car every morning beforehand, suggesting that this is a recurring problem.
The solution to this problem is straightforward: installing surveillance cameras and a patrolling security guard would go a long way in deterring future incidents. Unfortunately, it appears that the hotel is not taking adequate steps to address this issue, leaving guests' cars vulnerable to theft, even in front of the reception area.
We checked into another hotel across the highway, less than 0.1 miles away, and were not the only guests to do so due to the safety concerns at La Quinta. This should give you an idea of the level of concern among travelers.
