'This was a very nice comfortable place. We had a little trouble finding it. Was easy to check in and out of. The only suggestion I would make was to put the exterior patio lights on a timer so that they turn off at night— if it’s hot and you have the window open then you have all the light from the patio. But it was very clean and comfortable.'

'Perfect getaway with a little sauna for a relax, sea is at the end of the road, tidy and plenty of space. Love the little touches around the place, everything was thought off, we will definitely be back!'

'This is a gorgeous little property. We met Diane as we arrived, she was so lovely and accommodating (nice little touch was the biscuits and doggy treats. The bedrooms were warm and comfortable, the kitchen/living area was small but well equipped (no cooking on holiday!). We will certainly go back to The Bothy next time we are in the area.'

'Property is lovely with all the essentials (and bonus extras) needed. Clean, modern and full of mod cons. The garden is the stand out feature - loads to keep both adults and children happy. Communication with Mark and Michelle was excellent. Would definitely come again. '

'Lovely tranquil location amidst countryside, easy drive to nearby places of interest. Dog friendly. Well equipped kitchen, bathroom and cosy living room and bedroom with all amenities to make this a great home from home stay for a couple of days. Warm welcome, friendly, attentive service from Hilary and staff. 1 minute walk to cafe for excellent breakfast, which we ate outdoors in sunshine. Excellent value, with the bonus of a free pass to Beamish Museum, which saved us 50. Short drive / walk to...

'The property was large and was a good base to use being about 20 minutes from a beach and about 10 minutes walk from a park with swings etc for the grandchildren. It was about 5 minutes drive from an Aldi and Lidl. '

'Our stay over Christmas in the beautiful Kestral cottage was superb. Jean and Amy made us feel very welcome and went 'above & beyond' to make our stay perfect. The cottage has all the amenities you could ask for and was spotlessly clean. We would recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to spend a quiet break in County Durham. Say hi to the llamas!'

'I really enjoyed my 2 week stay at coalminers cottage. I felt the cottage was extremely clean and cosy, which was important for me as i grieve my Mam. I looked forward to returning from a busy day, to such a warm, comfortable space. Communication with Dylan was spot on. I will be back!!!'

'We had a wonderful week at the folly.The weather was very nice and we visited lots of sights in the neighbourhood. We would especially recommend Raby Castle. What a beautiful place to visit. The house was very nice and the owners were very friendly people. The only thing we missed were the curtains in the bedroom. '

"Wij hadden de ‘river view’ kamer: Een geweldige en ruime kamer met een fantastisch uitzicht op de rivier en een aantal bruggen. Heerlijke bedden! Koffie en thee beschikbaar en koelkast gevuld met drankjes gratis. Ontbijtbuffet heerlijk vers en heel uitgebreid. Hotel in centrum van de stad. Bij een probleem met parkeren werden we uiterst vriendelijk geholpen. Geduldig personeel wat echt probeert mee te denken. "

"Good bedroom and 2 bathrooms. Plenty of space. Very near to all restaurants and shopping mall and Grainers market. Parking available at the hotel at a first come first serve basis (200 meter further along). Not good: no dining/breakfast table! Old couch. Lamp in bedroom that did not go out. A lot of noise due to traffic until the late evening."
