'The view is incredible. That is the last of my compliments. Hot water ran out after about 6 minutes. The power on the island went out almost every night which is terrible for someone who has to use a CPAP to sleep. It seemed as though all of the units around us had generators. If we had one it was never brought to our attention. We had no way to exit the compound because the gate would only open from the outside. 'We enjoyed our stay and view of ships and boats from our balcony. The restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful. The front desk staff was ok, just need to be a little softer when talking to guest on the phone (only one lady...don't recall her name) but overall stay was nice.'

'Air Conditioning was nice. House keeping came daily. Rooms were spacious but bathrooms are tiny, limited towels, staff was not helpful, beds were very hard, rooms flooded from rain storm was told to put luggage on bed. Never tried to do anything about it. Front desk was VERY slow. Rooms were not ready at 4. They had muffins and water daily. NOT worth the price.'

'The room was very clean and had great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly. The space is beautiful and charming. Bartender and Restaurant staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! '

'The best and worth part of staying here is the view aside from that breakfast was free it helped a lot with spending money on food also because the only way to eat is actually getting into a taxi and finding everything else since you are on the top of a mountain and there’s nothing near or around there unless you’re driving or taking a taxi which are per person and becomes very expensive after a few rides a day. 'What a beautiful place to stay on St. John, a great location with outstanding views. The restaurant was wonderful, we had two outstanding dinners and enjoyed after dinner drinks at the bar each evening. Staff was outstanding, friendly and helpful! We are planning to return in 2027!'
