'The property was good, upside down property, set in a lovely harbour town. Locals friendly. Amazing ice cream shop. The attached fish and chip shop was very busy too. Parking was roadside, not guaranteed, opposite the property. We arrived at the end of the Herring Queen Festival, which was packed out. We struggled to even unload, but obviously that wasn't something we knew about prior to booking. After that had finished, parking wasn't really a problem. A few niggles with property but it didn't...

'I booked this cottage through Expedia and received confirmation that my reservation was confirmed. I travelled around 300 miles from the south of England, while my elderly parents travelled from the north so we could meet there for a family break. On the day of arrival, I never received the promised key-safe information. After contacting Expedia, they were initially unable to locate my booking. I eventually obtained access details from a neighbour, only to discover that the property was occupied...

'Absolutely lovely place! I’ve wanted to go here for a while for the pods with hot tubs and it did not disappoint! POD was very spacious, a super king bed was amazing! Very modern and comfortable. The hotel itself is really nice and in lovely grounds. We only had breakfast but it was also very good. We are looking forward to coming back!'

'De kamers zijn onberispelijk, het personeel en nieuwe eigenaren Allison en Graham zijn erg vriendelijk en gastvrij. Het ontbijt was een prima English breakfast met voldoende keuze. Koffie was goed! Wij gebruikten de locatie als uitvalsbasis naar Holy Island en de Northumbrian coastline. Het strand waaraan dit hotel ligt - Spittal beach - is niet echt bijzonder. De stad zelf is historisch prachtig met zijn bruggen en stadsmuur. '
