'We stayed in the Merlot 1 BR cabin, with a queen bed in the living area. Nicely renovated and well-appointed kitchen. Comfortable beds. Great lake views. Couch is not really suitable for sleeping on - maybe child under 8. Kayaking was nice. Linens were clean and in great condition. Patrons were friendly, kind and helpful. Fire area was great. Amazing access to the dunes. They are fixing up the place and doing a good job. That retaining wall is gonna be a big one. '

Only minus was there were no cutlery in the kitchen, luckily I brought some plastic ones from home, along with my frying pan, there were no pots and pans either. No dish soap so I had to buy some, along with sponges.

They even allowed me to park my 20-ft utility trailer and the gentleman that checked me in said he’d keep an eye on it personally and with the security cameras. I’ve stayed there twice this trip and both experiences were great.'

The couches in the room were very comfortable and they have a massive DVD library to borrow from, which was neat for our kids to see how 'old people' watch movies. Breakfast/coffee in the morning does not start until 8AM and there is only one small urn of coffee, which became quite clogged as the rush of people tried to get their morning coffee. The fact that the hotel had a lounge and restaurant worked out perfect for us to be able to have a few drinks with dinner and not have to drive. We absolutely loved the rocky coastline in front of the trail and hiking the 804 trail. Overall, no complaints. '
