'It was the service, more than anything. I landed in San Diego, only to realize I had left all toiletries. Chev, at the front desk helped me out. He also helped me with some work needs (printing, etc). He didn't have to do any of that, but it's service that I haven't gotten at some seriously $$$$ hotels so I greatly appreciated it and he saved the day. '

'A 10 out of 10!! We absolutely loved this place. It was our 40th anniversary and the staff placed a welcome gift in our room. The room was clean, bright and all in good working order. You can't beat the location. It's in walking distance to the ferry landing and the beach. Lots of places to eat, drink and shop nearby. We never used our car once we parked. They have bikes, beach chairs, and umbrellas for the guests to use. We will definitely stay here again. '

'Daily breakfast and coffee was a nice touch. Good area for cooking if you chose to. A bit noisy with nearby bars and because our room was near kitchen but they offer ear plugs. Check in staff were lovely. Steps to the beach and live music. Hostel itself is spacious with room outside to sit. We got a private room and only thing was the bathroom is set on a motion detector so the light kept going off while showering and with no Windows you couldn’t see so only suggestion would be a clear shower...
