Perfect Beach Cottage
The family and I had a relaxing stay at the well appointed Flip Flop Flamingo in beautiful Galveston Texas! Beds were comfortable and blackout curtains were a plus. Convenient location near the beach and many restaurants but on a quiet street. Would stay again.

Great getaway!
We had an amazing time during our stay for my husband's birthday! We loved the hot tub and the bikes as well. The only thing I would say is that you're close to the neighbors, and unfortunately for us, our neighbors were outside playing music throughout the day. Which, was only slightly annoying when we were outside in the hot tub. The house stays pretty quiet inside. The beds are extremely comfortable and the house stayed relatively cool. We highly recommend this house for your next getaway!!

Easy to find, close to Galveston seawall and The Strand. Clean and inviting, spacious home as described. Beds slept well. Kids had a blast. Yards were well fenced for our 2 dogs. The hot tub was hot and was one of the main reasons we chose this home. Would ask the renters to get lights fixed in hot tub and surrounding area. Overall would recommend for a "getaway fun, relaxing time."

very nice home
We just wanted to get a way for a few days. This home was a great choice. We needed a pet friendly and centrally located. Both were fulfilled here. It also came with a hot tube which was nice. Only used it a couple times but it sure felt good on these old bones. The home was very clean and had everything we needed or expected. Check in was very easy. I see where people did not like the long code, but it really is not a big deal. Security is important. Check out was also very easy. Pick up your things take trash out and you're on your way. Communication with owners was great. Only asked them one question when we got there and received a very quick response. Would stay again.

We loved this gorgeous 1907 cottage! It is cozy and comfortable, and even has a clawfoot tub. The fenced yard was perfect for our dogs. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. The location is perfect--close to our favorite restaurants and the beach. Our family needed to decompress after a devastating house fire. "Flip Flop Flamingo" was just what we needed. Many thanks to our gracious hosts, Jom and Monica. We are looking forward to returning next summer.

The house had rustic charm and was in a good location close to many different activities. Cons: the hot tub did not operate properly. It did work but half if the jets did not come on at all. The bikes were unridable due to tires not holding air. The two seater bike had no brakes. We looked forward to riding them but could not. The grill had not been cleaned. Pros: Aside from that it was a great stay in a cozy and cute house. We loved the area and had good interaction with others in the neighborhood. Would definitely recommend for a fun stay.

hi Eric, We're glad you enjoyed your stay. We're sorry you didn't reach out to us about the hot tub. We could have told you which knob(s) to turn to get the back jets flowing. We are going to have to replace that tandem bike. The sea air is just so hard on bikes. It is unfortunate that some guests just won't clean up after themselves when using things like the grill, isn't it. It is part of the house rules that they should.

We traveled with small pets for a weekend to the beach. House was well appointed and cute. Hot tub was a determining factor and bonus to our stay. Very affordable and would recommend to others. Only comment is the door code for entry is too long. But not a big issue.

Family Vacation
This was a perfect cozy spot just a short distance to the beach and seawall activities. We stayed with our older sons, a grandson and a dog and the beds were comfortable and spread throughout the house. It was the perfect relaxation spot after a long day of beaches, water parks and attractions. It has a modern kitchen, a hot tub and a nice shady lot. Thanks for a great experience. Great Galveston Stay
We and our dogs enjoyed our stay. The location is walking distance to the beach and close to Strand shopping and restaurants. Comfortable beds and furniture. Nice quiet neighborhood. The hot tub is a nice addition too. Very easy check in/out. The hosts are very communicative. This is a perfect long weekend getaway house. We just loved it.

Amazing Family Getaway!
What a great vacation house we can call our own! Plenty of space for all of us to stretch out. The shady backyard was great for morning quiet times and the hot tub was nice to loosen the muscles after a busy day. Only a couple blocks from everything made it easy for transportation. Most of the time we just walked! Jom and Monica are truly incredible hosts. Even though we never met them or saw them, it always felt like they were one text away when we needed a question answered. We will not only be vacationing in this property again but also be looking at vacationing in another property they own in the future!

The house was clean and everything worked, but it is old and has some old house quirks. The sea wall and beach were an easy walk. The water in the hot tub was cloudy so we didn’t use it, which was disappointing, because that was one of the main reasons why we rented the place. We let the owners know and they were very responsive in addressing the problem, but the water never cleared up. We also had some issues with our car during the stay and they were able to recommend a good mechanic to get us back on the road.

We were two couples travelling to town for Mardi Gras. The checkin process was easy and the house was what we expected. It is in a great area with beautiful homes. We parked our car and walked all weekend. There are great places nearby to eat and drink. We didn't prepare any meals at the house but there was everything we would have needed. The hot tub was great in the cool weather. I didn't realize the second bathroom was not attached to a bedroom so it was a little less private than we would have liked but we still had a great stay.

New Year's vacation
We booked for New Year's with our pets. A lovely little place! Just minutes from the beach. Very clean and had everything that you would need. I loved the claw foot tub. It was nice to relax after driving all day. The only thing is maybe a blind on the side of the hot tub facing the house next door for little more privacy because the neighbors can look into the back yard. We will definitely be back!! Bathrooms and towels hanging up were dirty. Have pics. The large bathroom has closed cabinet that was beat up and both bathrooms had rusted metal shelf’s and toilet paper holders. The floors were dirty. The shower curtain let’s out a lot of water on slippery floor. The outdoor table in the front yard is mismatched and worn out and the grass was too long. There were no decorations as posted online. The outdoor rugs and kitchen rug are really old, dirty and worn out. The kitchen had 1 hand towel. How can you wash and dry dishes with one hand towel? Hardly any pots and pans. The living furniture needs to be cleaned or preferably replaced. The floor is really slanted. I understand you get what you pay for but online pics don’t show rusty bathroom items, dilapidated cabinet or dirty floors and decor. Or, the state of front yard. The owners are going to say that I posted this because they charged me for dog urine by front door. But, I took pictures from the time I walked in the house. The neighborhood is okay I think. The a/c works very well and the kitchen and bedrooms and living room were clean. If you are going to cook a lot during your stay, I suggest getting a list of items available before you go so you can bring what else you may need.

We enjoyed the historic charm of the home. The claw foot tub and hot tub were neat touches. We enjoyed the bikes and roaming the historic neighborhoods. We were close to everything - the Strand and the Seawall. I only called Jom once about the code to the garage. He answered and very kindly provided the code, even though I had missed it on the chalkboard. My son enjoyed beating his MeMe in Galveston-opoly. We would definitely stay again!

Great spot in Galveston!
This property is exactly as described in the photos with some very minor wear and tear. Hot tub worked great! Bikes were understandably slow to pedal and rusted from the salt air but that's better than nothing at all. Easy walking distance to the beaches on seawall. There's a corner store 2 blocks away for quick needs like snacks, drinks, and meats! Close to many restaurants (I recommend Giado's!). I went with a group of 6 friends and we all were comfortable here. I'll be back with my wife in the future as this is a great value especially with 2 bathrooms when most places are 1 bathroom. Jom and Monica were very responsive via text!

We had a great time, this location is very nice, and convenient. Very short walk to the beach. Doors need a little work, and main bath needs a different way for curtain, it doesn't go around front and floor gets wet, but overall this is a very beautiful place, and very cozy. Pros: Great location. Nice older home with lots of character. Very spacious for our family of four. Kitchen had all the basics. Neighborhood was friendly and quiet. Hot tub water was very clean. Cons: While the inside of the house was fairly clean, it is starting to get a bit run down. Holes and scratches in the walls, cabinet in the bathroom was awful, the bathroom plumbing leaks outside onto the hot tub. Also, the exterior of the home and the whole outside area was completely filthy. It could be so much better with a bit of upkeep but with that said we still enjoyed our stay in Galveston.
