De zonsopgang zal elke ochtend je adem wegnemen als je op de grote voorportaal staart met een stomende kop appelcider of koffie. Schommelstoelen wachten op u en uw familie te genieten van adembenemend uitzicht op de torenhoge Grant Mountain gelegen in de wolken op fenomenale Mt. Bearwallow. Weiden rollen zachtjes naar beneden aan de voet van de machtige Mount Pisgah, die een foto van grazende paarden naast een postkaart perfecte vijver vormt.

Kinderen kunnen hun broek oprollen en vangen crawfish en andere rare dingen, terwijl ze de magische wereld van de natuur ontdekken. Pak een mandje en breng de middag door met wilde bramen in een taart om mee te gaan met verse bergkool, appels, Amishboter en kaas, zelfgemaakte jam, gelei en heerlijke gebakken producten op de lokale boerenmarkten. Alhoewel we op een hoge hoogte bevinden, neem Fido, de kinderen en uw wandelstok en stap zelfs onze bergweg verderop en geniet van een picknick en het steeds veranderende landschap van herfstbladeren of lentebloemen. Geen airco nodig, omdat de wind altijd koel is, zo knuffelen onder een gezellige deken en slapen naar de serenade van de kreek die langs de machtige berg loopt en de echo's van een onweersbui die van over de kloof loopt.

Verken het Biltmore House en winkelen in het dorp, maar vergeet niet om de kinderen te nemen en pan voor goud te plukken, geniet van een heerlijke barbecue, zelfgemaakt ijsje en alle unieke winkels (evenals naar Chimney Rock! Of het nu gaat om zijn prachtige watervallen of wandelen, fietsen, varen, golfen, winkelen of zwemmen, we weten dat je het ermee eens bent dat het zeker Gods land is en wij verwelkomen u graag onze gast te zijn.

Nice getaway

The home was cozy and as one other guest said, it is like staying at grandma's house. We specifically came for views of the mountain, but due to the time of season we came, our views were obstructed by the trees. Partly my fault for not realizing that, but would like to have seen "seasonal views," in the description. Loved, loved the creek beside it and the sound of that water. If we had had views, it would have been spectacular.

Great quiet getaway in a convenient mountain location!

We enjoyed our stay at Mott's Mountain Laurel. It was well equipped with everything we needed. The kitchen had plenty of cooking utensils, and there was plenty of space for our group. It was charming and reminded me of staying at someone's grandmother's house. There were family pictures on the wall and plenty of seating area.

Spacious, yet very cozy! This was my second stay at this home, for good reason, it is very comfortable and cozy and well supplied. Also the location is fantastic with a beautiful mountain view and convenient to Asheville and Hendersonville. Hillary is a great host!

A Beautiful Retreat

What a beautiful weekend we had! This mountain retreat was just what our family needed to reconnect, with plenty of space for napping, and mealtimes and games around the table. This is truly an old family home: warm, comfortable, inviting, and the view from the porch is impossible to capture with a camera! The hostess was available and easy to communicate with—we wanted to add our photos to her picture wall! We never took advantage of nearby restaurants or shops—we just stayed “home” and enjoyed the peace and natural setting, although the young adults did have fun mining for gems. We loved every minute of our stay here, and really enjoyed our surprise “welcome” gift! Thank you, Hillary, for sharing this treasure with us! It’s at the top of our “favorites” list!

Lovely house

Our family stayed 4 nights and we loved it. Very clean, great location, comfortable, and we felt that the Mott’s family not only shared their home but also their memories. We have never stayed in a VRBO that was so well equipped, they thought about every single detail, the house had pet supplies, including pet food, treats, toys, plenty of cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towel, towels, ziplock bags, all kitchen utensils that you could think of. We were welcomed with a s’mores kit, a soap/toothpaste/toothbrush/shampoo/conditioner/razor and shaving cream basket, and tasty wine.

JUST PERFECT

What a great home to get away from it all, yet remain close to everything you need. The home was quiet, clean, roomy, and well stocked. Asheville, Biltmore House, Hendersonville, Chimney Rock, and Lake Lure we’re short excursions from the location. The Owners were great to communicate with and quick to reply to our questions. This was our first VRBO rental and because of this experience, we will definitely be using the service in the future. GO NOLES!

Charming home.

The house is very charming and a real home. Everything needed is there- in the kitchen, bedrooms etc; there’s even a wide variety of board games. Fabulous mountain holiday retreat

The property was very well maintained, super cozy and if you like to cook has all the supplies you need. The area is stunning. The host was communicative as soon as the property was booked and sent helpful information ahead of time for us to help plan the stay and then to ensure we made it there safely, as well as a generous welcome gift! The mini van struggled to make it up the driveway so just be careful. The only item missing from the online pictures was the telescope, sadly was not there; but the big green egg was an amazing touch for our turkey! Super comfy beds which honestly is one of the things that sold me in the reviews, as so many rentals have great amenities with terrible mattresses. Not the case here, you will sleep great!! We also loved the history displayed and the antique items throughout. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend.

A real charm and perfectly comfy

We stayed 4 nights. Everything was perfect! Covered porch with rocking chairs, stone fireplace, kitchen is more than fully equipped. Rustic location in the trees, a short walk to a path along the creek. This was an excellent choice for our family time.

Everything you need for your stay, and the perfect location! The views from the porch were awesome as we used the Big Green Egg to grill. Just 8 miles to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Would definitely stay here again.

Great house, very clean and organized with everything one could need. Well stocked. Good communication with owners. Lovely area with lots of nature and enjoyed chasing fireflies and making bonfires. Internet was spotty. We mostly used our att hot spot and Verizon lte both worked fine in the house & area. Also we appreciated the wine and s’mores kit upon arrival! Tranquil and peaceful location

This beautiful property has satellite t.v. and WiFi but we barely used them. We enjoyed the front porch with a beautiful Mountain View. There’s a wonderful mountain stream running along side the house where the kids explored and played. It’s a great location that’s close to the Biltmore estate as well as Chimney Rock State park. We really enjoyed the house, the area, and the peace. We spent evenings around the fire pit making hotdogs and s’mores. The host provides tons of games for game night. We honestly didn’t want to leave.

Lowkey, relaxing getaway for families

Our family of 4 had a lovely long weekend getaway here. Our 4 and 5 year olds had so much fun traipsing through the creek in search of salamanders and other treasures. The house itself had all the conveniences we needed - plenty of kitchen equipment, nice towels and linens, plugs for our electronics, and new toiletries and soaps. The bottle of wine and s'mores baskets were also nice touches! We had a hiccup or two during our stay (the dryer went out), but the owners were immediately responsive and made the situation right immediately. I wouldn't say this house has the most breathtaking mountain view, but it was very comfortable, had a fun creek on site, was within minutes from beautiful hiking trails, and was close Lake Lure. We will be back!

Perfect for families, great location

We booked this mountain house on short notice and are so glad we did. The place had everything our family of four needed in terms of comfort and convenience. The owner is fantastic, very responsive and welcoming. The location of the property between Asheville and Lake Lure make it a very attractive spot. I sincerely hope the owners continue to rent this place out, because our family would love to make it a regular part of our vacation routine.
