De bedden waren heel slecht. Er stonden maar 2 bedden op de kamer terwijl er 3 geboekt waren. Heel slecht kinderbed. Ontbijt was niet te eten.

Ouwbollig hotel
Het hotel is een beetje uit de tijd, we kregen een kamer in het oude gedeelte door een wirre war van gangen trappen en trapjes. In de kamer was een badkuip alhoewel ik bij de bestelling een douche gevraagd had. Voor 50 £ per nacht kreeg ik een veel grotere kamer met grote badkamer met badkuip en kleine douche van 70x70 cm waarin je je onmogelijk kon bukken. Het kraanwerk warm of koud was zeer oubollig en nauwelijks te regelen.Aan de douche hing een gordijn wat vies aanvoelt. We mochten wel gratis naar de spa maar die hadden we niet nodig of niet gebruikt. Alhoewel de badkamer groot was was er toch weinig plaats bijv voor plaatsen toiletgerief en ophangen handdoeken. Diner en ontbijt in restaurant was ok qua kwaliteit en prijs. De brandveiligheid was ondermaats kier van 3 cm onder deur ontbrekende swelstrips in deur enz. Van de 4 sterren mag je er een of toch minstens een halve afdoen. De bar was ok maar het aanbod aan bier was zeer beperkt toch voor een Belg. Dit hotel is toe aan een grondige renovatie toch voor de twee kamers die wij zagen. Had ik de werkelijke prijs moeten betalen (we hadden 3 gratie nachten van hotels.com) dan zou ik er niet voor gekozen hebben

The Spa facilities make this place as the rooms are not as large or luxurious as the photos appear. The bar and dining area is excellent and the staff very helpful and pleasant. However, if you do not book directly you are not entitled to as much time in the Spa and member of staff was rather dismissive of us for booking via Expedia.

The staff were very welcoming. Unfortunately our room smelt damp. Wallpaper peeling off the walls. Dirty shower curtain. Dirty window frames . Difficult to get to sleep due to a lot of people constantly walking past our room due to its location. Poor quality wardrobe door.cobwebs under sliding door frame to bathroom. Hamper selection box heavily worn. Kettle had old water i side,very old kettle handle worn and filter dirty. This was advertised as a one night stay in a luxury spa hotel. Luxury it certaintly wasnt. The only saving grace was the spa facility was nice and the bar area was nice. Breakfast was also nice. As for the room it was a low standard. Wouldn't recommend this stay.

No key for the room - I had to find a staff member every time I needed access, so the idea of visiting the spa and being locked out for 15 minutes whilst searching the hotel was a no-no. The 'King Size Bed' was in fact two singles pushed together with a very hard ridge on both edges no-one could sleep on. There was no hot water both in the evening and morning, wherever the shower was set. I thought the unmarked shower was temperamental until the temperature varied from cold to lukewarm and back whilst I was rapidly showering, hence the evidence of lack of hot water at the peak time. The £200 rack rate does not include a full breakfast. One can choose from three items - I had one sausage, one piece of bacon and one egg. I was offered tea or coffee, and when I chose the latter I was directed to the end of the queue for the single coffee machine for the whole busy breakfast service. My colleagues who stayed at the Travelodge and Premier Inn were quite literally laughing at this stay which would have been poor and fundamentally failure to deliver a basic hotel service, if it were a local guesthouse - at a 4 star hotel, absolutely shocking.

The hotel was nice and big. It was warm and the rooms were cosy. The shower temperature kept fluctuating as you showered which was annoying. The spa was the highlight, the staff and service in there was good.The staff at breakfast were not very welcoming, they did not listen to what we wanted/needed. The manager was rude and boisterous. She was telling staff off in front of guests which is so unprofessional. There was no system in place it seemed messy and just all over the place. Staff could be friendlier. Overall good stay but staff and service let them down.

The hotel is probably 1 star rating our room was really small and looked nothing like the pics, the bathroom came with no toiletries, even when we called reception and asked for it to be sent nothing came. The water in the shower wasn’t hot either and walking down the hallway from our room there were dirty towels outside just laying in the hallway it was terrible. Definitely don’t recommend this hotel

Luxurious! Will be staying again, thank you!
Amazing! So luxurious, stunning facilities. Room was clean. I can't wait to attend again. Only slight negative I have is that the rooms weren't sound proof, and spa music was played continuously in the corridor overnight which I could hear which made me a little hesitant to use my hairdryer at 6am as its noisy and I didn't want to risk waking guests. Oh, and there is a CAT that lives in the manor too! She visits the bar area and will say hello to you but only if you call her over like I did. If your're not a fan of cats, do not worry she won't go out of her way to bother you.

Positives - Great service on reception and in the spa. Bed was comfy. Negatives - Toe nail clippings on the carpet in the room. Lots of spiders and spider webs in the room. Lots of dust collected on surfaces. Walls very thin so had to listen to my neighbours doing the business at 23:57. Only for a couple on minutes though!

Brilliant spa!
Amazing spa could do with being able to use it for longer rather than restricted times. Only downside to the trip was sitting in the bar having a quiet drink when a function is on… is not what happens! The thudding of the music is loud!

The hotel itself wasn't that bad. Pleasant staff. My room was not cleaned properly. We foumd a birthday card from the previous people . I stood on a bottle top that was from the previous guests. The net curtain had blood on it we think . The bathroom was not grear either. Cracked tiles missing grout onthe floor tiles. Noisy toilet and the shower head had never been cleaned by the looks of things. Creeky floor boards of which you can see in the carpet the pattern of the boards . Bed was comfortable.

We felt so welcome
What made our stay special was the staff, so friendly and always willing to help. We all thought that having a mixed age group in the restaurant as staff was excellent, seeing the retired people still respected and given work is becoming rare and we fully applaud the hotel for this policy.

Lovely hotel with spa
Perfect for my needs spa is a bonus but some parts look tired and need some extra attention ( tiles in the pool stained long hair floating in pool and pipes of the water jet very oxi dated) sauna need fixing and cleaning . food very good and room modern comfy and spotless . Extra touch the lovely house kitty that was roaming around super cute and friendly. I love the fact there are charging point so next time I will benefit of it ! Ease advertise it in the website as it’s a massive selling point!

The staff were nice, the spa and grounds of the hotel are lovely and the restaurant was good. However, We paid extra for an executive room which said we would have a garden view but we had a terrible view over the roof, when we asked to move the staff said there were no other rooms available. The bed was uncomfortable with hard pillows and the room was very dark and small. We ordered room service and the only options were sandwiches, the man on the phone was rude and when the sandwich arrived it was extremely dry. The hotel looked outdated and unclean in some parts. The walls were paper thin and the hotel was very noisy with weddings happening each night. Overall it didn’t feel like a 4 star hotel and for what you get we thought £400 for 2 nights was very expensive.
