Loop slechts een paar stappen naar het spectaculaire witte zandstrand genaamd 'Long Beach', waar je meteen wordt aangetrokken door de ongekende uitzichten op 'Twin Lights' en de rotsachtige kust die je omringt.

Gloucester is een plek om geschiedenis te zien, te voelen en te ervaren. Zijn werkende waterkant en schoonheid hebben vissers, families, kunstenaars en bezoekers honderden jaren getrokken.

Walvis spotten en vissen, (schelvis, kabeljauw en tonijn) kan worden genoten van de Whale Watching en Deep Sea Fishing boten.

Vuurtorens dateren uit de jaren 1780 en het historische centrum heeft meer dan 75 restaurants met allerlei soorten gerechten en de 'verste' van zeevruchten.

Vanaf Long Beach, op een steenworp afstand van het huisje, kun je 'Twin Lights' op Thatcher's Island eenvoudig zien zoals op de foto.

* 'Good Harbour Beach' (op loopafstand van het huisje) is een 1/2 mijl lange barrière strand met een rotsachtige kust en kwelder die wordt beschermd door zandduinen. Kleine, met struiken bedekte rotsachtige 'Salt Island' is toegankelijk bij eb.

* Deze 2 stranden liggen genesteld in afgelegen baaien met wit zand en strekken zich mijlen uit.

We all enjoyed hanging out on the large spacious deck, watching the kids play in the large well manicured lawn on the side of the house. They were lots of flowers to add beauty and lots of trees or tall shrubs to provide privacy from the neighbors. Ping-pong table on the second floor’s recreation room was a big hit with all of our guests. We made several dinners for our guests using the grill and the cooktop and everything was available as far as cooking utensils, pots, and pans. The property owners promptly answered any questions that we had prior to checking in and we really had none after we checked in because the property was pretty much as described. I would highly recommend this place.

The house was great we had 3 small issues 1 think the owners should stress more that the stairs from parking area are the only way in. Having knee problems it was an issue 2 The step into the kitchen could be marked with yellow tape. One older relative had a bad fall on it 3 A minor issue….. the coffee pot does not turn off automatically and we went off leaving it on. It ended ok but could have been a real problem None of these are huge issues but would be helpful for future rental

Wonderful beach getaway

My partner and I had a lovely vacation at your home. The house had everything we needed and was right down the street from the beach. We especially enjoyed the front patio. My only suggestion for improvement would be to make clear in the listing that this is not a private home; there is a resident staying downstairs. The resident did not disrupt us at all (in fact she was quite friendly and even helped us!) but it would be good to have an accurate listing.

Perfect getaway

The location in superb only steps from the trail to Long Beach. The property was clean and roomy and great for separation especially if there are inclement weather days. They provide all of the linens and the kitchen was well stocked. There are 2 TV's both small, which is no matter to me as I don't watch much but for those who like large TV's they may be disappointed. The whole experience was great and I highly recommend.

Perfect getaway

Whether you're coming from nearby towns or far away states, this is an ideal getaway. Great proximity to the beach as well as other sites in the Cape Ann/northeastern Massachusetts area. The house is clean, there is a beautiful yard, there is plenty of room in the house and the pool table is a real bonus when you don't feel like running around sightseeing.

Great find near Long Beach and Good Harbor

The property was very generous with space. It was not newly renovated and we had a few ants at various times. The location is ideal for our family. We have relatives who live on the other end of GH Beach and throughout Gloucester so this is an annual trip for us. The grounds of the house were stunning and overall the house provided us with all that we needed for our stay.

The Beachcomber cottage was a wonderful place to stay at Long Beach. The house had beach chairs, sun umbrella, and beach towels all provided. The yard is nicely landscaped and quiet. My family enjoyed playing pool in the evening and had a great week.

Absolutely perfect!!

Everything was perfect. The owners thought of everything you could possibly need while on vacation. The house is beautiful and spotless and located in a quiet neighborhood. It is literally a 2 minute walk from the driveway to beautiful Long Beach. It has a beautiful yard with lots of big trees to provide shade which was a welcome change from the hot sun on the beach. We loved it so much we have already booked for next year. We feel so lucky to have found this beautiful home to spend our family vacation. Thank you Laura for renting your beautiful home to us!

Best vacation ever

This was the best vacation ever. No stress, the owner and her daughter make everything so easy. The house is well kept and clean. Long Beach is my favorite beach in Massachusetts and love going every year. Have rented several houses over the numerous years that we have been going but this one - is the best one. The beds are very comfortable. Love that this is house is close to everything, beach, and food. lol. Bearskin and Gloucester are my favorite places to visit. Look forward to going on this vacation every year.

WOW!

I can't say enough good things about the Beachcomber Cottage! Laura has created a warm, welcoming, clean and well appointed home and amazingly offers it as a rental! My family found the home spacious enough to spread out when we wanted some quiet time but there were enough large spaces (inside and out) to gather and eat together. My mother, who has some knee issues and is partially blind, appreciated the grab bars in the bathroom and in a few other places in the house that offered her the extra security she requires. Let's not forget the real reason you rent this house--Long Beach! We love Long Beach and the Beachcomber is about the 6th house up from the sandy path that takes you right down to a picture perfect spot at the end of the crescent shaped beach! I would say with slow legs the walk will take to 4 minutes and with a quick step you can do it in 2. The owners were always quick to reply to my questions and we will rent this house again and again. If you can find an available week, snap this place up!

Family Vacation

What a great place! This house made our vacation! Our favorite house that we have ever rented! We came with our two kids, ages 13 and 19 and allowed them both to bring friends and the house easily accommodated this arrangement! The house was so well maintained, clean and with lovely details, with a great yard. The deck with grill made a lovely area to eat dinners and there was an inside generous dining room table that sat 6 for colder, rainy evenings. And the location....to die for....one block from Long Beach and an easy 10 minute walk to Good Harbor Beach, which we enjoyed mornings, afternoons and evenings. And, there's a great ice cream shop on the way to Good Harbor. I also need to mention that the generously spaced upstairs area with a full bedroom, bathroom and living room area that has a full size pool table was excellent for my teenage daughter and her friends and of course the pool table was a huge hit with all of us! Also, the owners were so nice and responsive to our needs and questions. We would return without hesitation. Well worth the price!

Our Family Christmas

Most people think of Beachcomber Cottage as a summer vacation spot, but it was a perfect place for our family to spend Christmas together. It was spacious enough for everyone to have privacy when they needed it, and meals all together without being crowded. The kitchen was equipped with all the utensils for our Christmas dinner, and later in the week, a fresh lobster dinner. It's welcoming and comfortable in every sense of the word - including holiday decorations to make us feel at home. The location is perfect - close to Rockport, Rocky Neck and Gloucester, each with their own charm and history. Best of all is its proximity to a beautiful beach, which we walked every day. Another feature is the large deck, which overlooks a professionally landscaped yard. We can't wait to go back!

Already looking forward to going back!

My family just returned from a wonderful stay at the Beachcomber and are already looking forward to going back. First of all, the house and property were beautiful. There was plenty of room for my 3 generation family to spread out and relax as well as be together. My daughter loved the beautiful back yard to play hide and seek, while my parents enjoyed the beautiful views from the spacious deck. The house is clean and well maintained. The most important attraction is being mere steps from Long Beach, a real treat with its beautiful sand and sparkling waters. Sunset walks, collecting shells , and splashing in the beautiful water were all a wonderful way to pass the time. The house is within minutes of great shopping to both downtown Gloucester and Rockport. Laura was a pleasure to work with, and my family is already counting the days to our return!
