'Kleine kamer met basis faciliteiten uitgerust. Badkamer was niet goed schoon, maar dit werd na constatering snel door het personeel hersteld. Ontbijtmogelijkheid bij de accommodatie is handig. '

'Long wait at check in. Airco downstairs, but room hot and no airco. Check out time 11.00. But at 10.30 they said we had 10 minutes. Airco unit of downstairs next to room window…. Unbelievable. A lot of noise. Awfull service of front desk. Mostly not occupied and you have to call an outside number with your cell. Best hotel of Colchester. What a Joke. '

'Goed geslapen. Kamer netjes. Gang en restaurant met versleten en vieze vloerbedekking. Tafels plakkerig. Ontbijt vanaf 6 uur wat heel prettig was ivm afspraken. Geen kaas of vleeswaren. Lekkere koffie. '

'Delusions of grandeur. A very small room with barely enough room to open a suitcase, slightly shabby decor. So many cushions on the bed that when you removed them they took up most of the available floor space! Bathroom ok but nowhere to put toiletries. Dinner ok, but nothing special. It was all “ok” but disappointing compared to the hype on the website.'

'This place is a little dated and in dire need of some TLC. A little time or money spent on the grounds could make this place amazing again, starting with the outsides. It is cheap enough to stay and the rooms although a little dated have great flooring all around including the bathrooms. The staff we interacted with were all friendly but they were a little off putting everytime we went past the reception there would be staff hanging around outside which made you feel uncomfortable, it was sunny...

'Ok but do NOT book in the summer!! Only one room has air con and the heated towel rail can not be turned off! Even with the fuse removed (owner advised we remove). This made the bathroom ridiculous hot which filtered through to the room. Room wasn’t the cleanest, stains up the walls from coffee (I hope) Aircon in all rooms would make it much more comfortable and the rest could be overlooked. Staff were fantastic though.'
