'The hotel was simply amazing - wonderful decor, generous space in rooms, beautiful garden and small places troughout the hotel to sit in open and relax - it really has a boutique hotel look and feel. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Beach is 2-3 minutes walk away and free bicycles are also available. Pool is big, a little unusually located behind the reception and not in the sun, but we enjoyed it. We would choose Vanessa Boutique hotel again without hesitation.'

'Very nice property for a good price. There are some sign of wear in the room but it is very nice and comfortable and well located; only a few minutes from the beach. The girl at the front desk, Yen, is the sweetest and friendliest! She was always ready to help and give suggestions! The only minor thing is the lock on the balcony can be opened from the outside and it connects to other guests' balcony so technically anyone could get in. The owners have the right balance of making sure your stay has eveything you need, and allowing you privacy - they really do go above and beyond. Getting into Old Town is easy using Grab, and you can walk along the beach to An Bang if you want to spend time in the touristy areas before returning to your oasis! '

'It's hardly a 5 star hotel. Staff understanding of English is poor and their service attitude is not consistent across all staff. To claim 5 star status they need to take a long hard look at a real 5 star property and bring staff and amenities up to standard. Too many bus tour groups downgrade the experience. The buffet breakfast room is a very noisy cafeteria style environment so much so my wife refused to eat there again. Fortunately we discovered another far more comfortable breakfast place...
