'Het personeel is erg vriendelijk, en zijn netjes naar de kamer begeleid. Echter bij binnenkomst geen badkamer/toilet. Waren op een verdieping lager. Dit stond echter niet in de beschrijving tijdens het boeken. Tevens kraakte de trap en de gang (houten vloer, oud gebouw) en weinig isolatie, waardoor je de andere gasten letterlijk kon volgen.'

'It was located on the main street of Tynemouth. We could see the sea at the end of the road. We were not disturbed by noise. There were lots of well rated cafes and restaurants. The owner was very friendly, available and helpful without at any point being intrusive. He went out of his way to make us feel at home and to provide what we needed. We were very pleased and would return if in the area.'

'Always a unique and enjoyable experience. Wonderful staff. It is in need of some TLC in areas, but you have to consider it is 700+ yeas old - so you have to make allowances. If you want sterile this is not the place. Give me character every time.'

The surroundings are idyllic with lavender fields, apple and plum trees as well as all the beaitiful plants Everywhere is immaculately maintained from the grounds to the restaurant and cottages. 'The perfect hotel! Room 229, more like an apartment than hotel room. All spotless, and extremely helpful staff. Breakfast was usual buffet style woth plenty of other options if needed. Local for everything that was needed myself as well.'

'Great 3 night stay at the Keelman. Check in nice and easy, staff friendly and very helpful. Room was good, big enough for us, and had all we needed, bed comfortable, shower really good, clean and tidy. (Maybe could do with a fridge) the surroundings were very nice, a short walk to the Riverside park. Bar and restaurant were lovely, and nice outside sitting area. Food and beers excellent, especially the Prince Bishop, would definitely stay here again'

'Die Lage war für uns als Hadrianswanderer ideal. Die Unterkunft ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, war aber für uns völlig genügend. Das Pub ist wunderschön gelegen und bietet sehr gutes Essen an, das man bei schönem Wetter draussen geniessen kann. Das Angebot war reichhaltig zu vernünftigen Preisen. Schade war, dass man erst ab 8:00 frühstücken konnte mit sehr wässrigem, teurem Kaffee. Es übernachten sehr viele Hadrianswanderer, die sicher beizeiten loslaufen wollen.'

'We had a lovely stay at the Dakota. We were greeted at the door by 2 staff members who were lovely and showed us to reception. Reception staff were lovely and friendly, engaged in conversation asking about our day. Wished me a Happy Birthday and our room was ready early, so was able to check in a good couple of hours earlier. Room was nice and spacious, clean and we could monitor the air con. Our overall stay was amazing and would definately reccomend. We didnt go in tbe restaurant/bar or stayed...

'The hotel is beautifully renovated, stylish and modern. All staff were so friendly and customer focused. Location right on the river and quayside short walk into city centre. The terrace for drinks was probably the area where we were expecting a little more but it was still fantastic. Drinks a little pricey but it was a special occasion so we didn't mind so much.'

"Wij hadden de ‘river view’ kamer: Een geweldige en ruime kamer met een fantastisch uitzicht op de rivier en een aantal bruggen. Heerlijke bedden! Koffie en thee beschikbaar en koelkast gevuld met drankjes gratis. Ontbijtbuffet heerlijk vers en heel uitgebreid. Hotel in centrum van de stad. Bij een probleem met parkeren werden we uiterst vriendelijk geholpen. Geduldig personeel wat echt probeert mee te denken. "
