'4 night stay April 2026 (Sunday to Thursday) - accommodation very clean, comfortable and modern, hosts very welcoming - location peaceful (a few sheep and horses over the fence at the bottom of the garden, but no noise) and nice dark skies (I saw a few Lyrid meteors during my stay!). Great kitchen facilities (so you can easily self-cater if you want) and excellent shower, better accommodation than a hotel if visiting the area IMHO. Well located, Hastings, Rye & Great Dixter all a quick drive...

'Great location!! Shepherds hut fully equipped and well thought out, even has a picnic basket and blanket. Host is super friendly and helpful. Easy access to local community, walks, cycle tracks through beautiful forests with picnic spots along the way. Safe environment and free parking a short walk from the accommodation. Braai (barbecue) and fire pit. As SAFFA’s was great to sit around the fire under the stars braaing marshmallows. Thanks for an awesome stay.'

'Beautiful accommodation, with lovely vaulted ceiling making it bright and airy High quality finishes all round Kitchen has everything you need and a bottle of milk waiting in the fridge was a lovely touch Tea bags, coffee pods, crisps and biscuits also provided Bed was comfortable and high quality bedding Lovely big fluffy towels and M&S toiletries provided. It was so quiet at night meaning a great night sleep A lovely stay and would recommend a trip to Caster sands and Rye center'

'Het huis is fantastisch ingericht en voelt als een warme deken. Alles is aanwezig. Het dorp is prachtig en de omgeving leent zich goed om een korte of lange wandeling te maken. Het enige minpuntje is dat de weg aan de voorkant vooral 's nachts erg lawaaiig is. '

'If you love a peaceful country retreat then this is for you. Wildlife all around. The owner could not be more helpful. Peacocks at the back door herds of dear and flocks of amazing rheas much better than advertised. You do need a car with good clearance for the track through the forest but it's worth it as it all ads to the amazing adventure. Thank you once again to our host Martin who meets guests at the gate to lead you through the forest.'
