'Restaurants very close. We walked. Room is great for 2 people. 2 kids could sleep on the pullout couch. Appreciated the smart tv. There is a hair dryer . No laundry. Base camp is a good name for it. A place to flop after a day outside. Nice mattress. Beautiful murals on doors. I felt safe as it was right next to a bank and I noticed a police car in adjacent parking lot. '

The decor is really clever, the accommodations are well thought out, and the location is central to just about everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay , and highly recommend it!!!'

'This was a big, converted suite - plenty of room for luggage. The kitchen bedroom and bathroom were normal sized, but the living room was oversized. It was nice to have space . Very convenient for food and mt Rushmore to the south.'

'The Pondside Lodge was a splendid place to stay for our trip to South Dakota! The lodge is beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The living room picture window looks out over the pond and the Needles are clearly visible in the distance. It is a very relaxing location - quiet and lovely. We saw turkeys and deer every day going to and from the lodge. The lodge is a short drive to the Custer Wildlife Loop (spectacular!), the Needles Highway (amazing!), and Sylvan Lake (stunning!).
