'One of the best price/quality options for your stay in Chicago. Great neighbourhood with lots of (rather expensive) restaurants and bars. Supermarket around the corner. Metro station at 10 minutes walking distance. The Villa Toscana is a charming old house with nice garden and verandah. Rooms are a bit small and stuffy, with no view or possibility to open windows in the bottom rooms, although the owner unscrewed one of the closed windows for us to let in a bit of fresh air. 'Overall, the front desk staff were not very welcoming or helpful or interested in greeting or answering questions or giving information about the hotel. We had to kind of figure things out by ourselves. Looking closely at the room, decor, and the dead bugs in the window and the decor and the restaurant you get a cheaper vibe for the enormous price you pay for this place. Our worst experience was The Edge restaurant. Very overpriced and disappointing for what is marketed as a high-end dining...
