'We really enjoyed our stay. Our host did an outstanding job making us feel welcome, and the property was exactly as described in the listing. The location was perfect with a huge lawn right on the Chena River! We enjoyed relaxing on the deck, our kids enjoyed paddleboarding on the river, and our dog enjoyed exploring the spacious yard. The home itself has a unique, old time Alaska feel to it, and the beds were very comfortable. I enjoyed reading some of the articles hanging up about the history...

'Laura and Martin have a wonderful get-away. Breakfast, coffee, water and snacks await you upon arrival. The house is clean and the decor provides real Alaskan vibe. I stayed mid-July and the deck and flowers were peaceful and inviting. As hosts,, they are friendly and attentive. I would recommend anyone to their lovely Gilmore house. '

'Wonderfully appointed, clean cabin in a charming setting close to the park. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit watching the airstrip as well as the surrounding scenery. Oh so close to Denali. Will absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend this property. (Airplane noise was not a distraction for us)'

'Very clean and comfortable stay. It was tight with five people and luggage but we knew that going in and it was fine for a one-night stay. One pull-out couch was ok, the other quite uncomfortable. For those looking for a longer stay, the cabin would be perfect for a couple or small family. Dowtown Talkeetna was less than a 5 minute drive but also walkable. The immediate neighborhood had some run-down properties but didn’t feel unsafe. Communication with the hosts was very good. '

'We had a wonderful stay at The Lazy Birch. The entire property was thoughtfully laid out and maintained. We really enjoyed the peacefulness of the lake and using the paddle boat and kayaks. Sitting quietly on the lake and watching the loons was so relaxing. Our teens also really enjoyed the provided outdoor games. The amenities inside were numerous and we were quite comfortable during our stay. Darryl was very fast to respond and very pleasant. We definitely hope to stay here again!'
