'We had a lovely stay. As we visited for an event nearby there wasn’t much time to explore the area but the cottage was a great base. The welcome pack was a nice surprise. The dogs loved the large garden and we would definitely return.'

'Het huisje is prima en voorzien in alles. De sofa in de serre is niet optimaal, maar voor een paar nachten goed te doen. Als je een hond meeneemt dan is het lastig. De buurman heeft een vogelopvang en kwam direct aangeven dat de hond nergens in de tuin los mag. En vergeet het algemene hek niet. Anders komt de beste man het direct vertellen. Dus zonder hond, een prima huisje.'

'The property is a lot bigger than the photos portray. Very spacious. There were also two single beds as well as a double in the area upstairs. Very tranquil surroundings. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.'

'A lovely spot for a few days away to relax and unwind. The property was clean and well-maintained and was a lovely base to explore beautiful Northumberland. The only downside was the noise from the adjacent busy road but it it did quieten down late evening. Would stay again'

'We recently stayed at May Cottage and it was just what we needed. The cottage is lovely and much bigger than we anticipated, especially the bedrooms - they’re a really big! Kitchen has everything you need and even though we had taken hand wash and washing up liquid etc, it was all provided. Even dishwasher tablets! The views from the garden are exceptional and it was very quiet. We loved sitting watching the families of swallows flying in and out of their nests and listening their babies...

'Lovely spacious well-heated house in beautiful countryside. We had a week of snowy weather which was heavenly. Edward, the owner was extremely helpful. He towed out some cars which got stuck in the car park by the house, provided lots of logs, replaced the washing machine which had problems and was generally a great help. This is a house for people who like old books and furnishings...don't go there if you want modern posh.'

'Wonderful cottage, beautifully renovated with great taste. The kitchen with the electric AGA is very comfortabel and inviting, and the living room with a big window stove warm and cosy (with open doors to the garden for warmer seasons). The location was perfect with a short scenic drive to either the beach, the muirs or the Cheviot Hills. Edinburgh is only 1,5 hours away and there’s a good train connnection from Berwick upon Tweed. 'This is a superb cottage, finished to an excellent standard and very well equipped. There is no phone signal or WiFi which some people may not like but for us that just added to the feel of having a proper getaway in The Borders countryside. You can’t walk on the immediate estate but that really doesn’t matter as there are plenty of walks in the area.
