'We loved our stay at Areca, we had a room on the ground floor and it was sheer luxury, spacious, beautiful tiles on the floor, high ceiling, lovely period furniture, fans and air conditioner and a shower that was truly magnificent. We loved the afternoon teas and all the delights that were served. Your staff are extremely polite and courteous. We stayed for a week and would be happy to return. Thank you Areca. '

'This hotel is so wonderful! As soon as you check in the friendly staffs takes care of you in every single way without any pressure. On our trip in Malaysia, this staff was by far the friendliest we've experienced. Our room was beautiful, clean and authentic. It isn't an impersonal room like you get in most hotels, but a room full of character and style. I actually dont want to tell the crowd how great it is to preserve the uniqueness of this place, but the staff deserves all the accolades. '

'Nice location in the center of Georgetown. Lot of points of interest on walking distance from the hotel. Old town, Love lane, Jetty’s.
This boutique hotel is a nice ancient chinese style house, with just 8 or 9 rooms.
Areas for improvement are the beds / mattresses. Really rock solid and prevents a good sleep. And also the breakfast was pretty limited choices; toast, jam, 4 or 5 hot options and also exactly the same for 3 days.
Note you’re in the city and this old house lacks good isolation,...
