'Value for money. I travel a lot and so am very particular about cleanliness, good ambience and things working. The rooms were clean and smells new. bed sheets nice and clean, bath towels smell good, hot shower available and right temperature. Air con fresh, cool and no musky smell. '

'This hotel is so wonderful! As soon as you check in the friendly staffs takes care of you in every single way without any pressure. On our trip in Malaysia, this staff was by far the friendliest we've experienced. Our room was beautiful, clean and authentic. It isn't an impersonal room like you get in most hotels, but a room full of character and style. I actually dont want to tell the crowd how great it is to preserve the uniqueness of this place, but the staff deserves all the accolades. '

'We loved our stay at Areca, we had a room on the ground floor and it was sheer luxury, spacious, beautiful tiles on the floor, high ceiling, lovely period furniture, fans and air conditioner and a shower that was truly magnificent. We loved the afternoon teas and all the delights that were served. Your staff are extremely polite and courteous. We stayed for a week and would be happy to return. Thank you Areca. '

'The room was wonderful. Very clean, modern, and spacious. Although the hotel is a little ways from the historical downtown, you can take the free bus (CAT) and get off at stop 11 and from there the hotel is less than a10 min walk. CAT made it very easy to get anywhere in town from the hotel.
The only negative was the wifi was awful. It was constantly dropping and I had to reconnect multiple times each session. '
