'We lived our stay at this very authentic ryokan like hotel. The staff were generous and kind, we were able to book the private onsen for a very reasonable price to accommodate our tattoos and our family going together. The half board was delicious. This is not a luxury stay so much as a real Japanese cultural experience and we had a great time as a family of four USA folk with teens.'

'Okada is a pretty big ryokan in Hirayu onsen area. Perfect for visiting Kamikochi in the summer. Rooms are of good size with a nice balcony/sitting area. The biggest plus of the ryokan is the beatiful onsen with multiple baths.
Drawbacks were that our room didn’t have AC, only a fan, while it was very hot. The futons were pretty hard.'
