'We reisden 3 weken individueel door Japan in hotels en 3 Ryokans. Shinyu is ongetwijfeld onze beste ervaring: exekente ligging 1e lijn aan het meer. Mooie en zeer ruime kamer. Fantastisch diner en ontbijt! Aangename orivé onsen om als koppel te genieten ... en bovendien onze goedkoopste Ryokan! '

'We had a wonderful time at this ryokan. We chose this inn specifically for its remote location and traditional atmosphere and were not disappointed. The hotel, outdoor onsen, and woodsy surroundings were all excellent. The building is old and reminded me of the railroad lodges of the western United States: creaky old doors and floors, metal keys, and rotary dial phones. Other than the hotel, there are no restaurants nearby (that I know of) and dinner is an elaborate kaiseki ryori that requires...

'Perfect dinner and a good service at the reception. Changing from a Japanese bedroom to a European bedroom solved with no discussion. Good connection with public busservice in front of the hotel. '

'Great location for the hotel to see both the Shinhotaka ropeway and the Kamikochi park. Inside it was clean, quiet and, of course, great private onsens. 2 indoor and 1 outdoor. Water was very hot, but relaxing. Will definitely book again if we're back here'
