'Very welcoming, sincerely helpful and patient staff in a beautiful and well organized resort. Great&clean pool. Nice food! Perfect place to relax.
30mins drive from KK center (hotel shuttle or taxi/grabb).
Just watch out for the jellyfish and even if you ignore the warning the staff is ever so patient to take care of (silly) you (but still, better not try to beat the jelly's and just enjoy a walk along the beautiful beach)! '

'The Shangti-La is just a step up from other hotels. Yes, it's big and busy but the staff go out of their way to really spoil you. I'm vegan and they bent over backwards to ensure I had a great breakfast, sent soy milk to my room tweaked dishes so I ate well. And the location - oh my. We stayed in a garden room and could walk straight out looking at the sea. Room had a shower and a bath, was well stocked. Water in the fridge every day. Their Spa was great too. I can't think of anything bad about...

'Rooms are very outdated, beds were uncomfortable, cockroaches in bathroom, ants colony in bedroom. Towels were not changed, even after use they’ve been put on the floor. The lobby is nice, as is the swimming pool, but the rooms look like they’ve been have neglected for 20 years (just like the gym). I would not go there again, the high prices are just ridiculous for this level of maintenance and state. No more than a 2 or 3 star hotel in my opinion, certainly no 5 star hotel, because of the state...

'This is a really good place where the scenary is awesome, able to see mosques and a small village on water. Plus the room itself is pretty clean and neat. I think it's 10/10.

'Hotel is new but room is very small. I booked and paid the room type i want based on the pics shown on expedia, but they assigned me to different room and claim that its a new design room. I feel being downgraded because the so called new design room was much more basic than what we see on website. kind of misleading! '

'We arrived at nearly 10pm and didnt have the self check-in details so we had to send a text to receive the door codes. One of the rooms they said was ours already had people sleeping inside! Fortunately they gave us another room and we found them simple but comfortable. The shower was excellent!'
