'This is not a luxury house. Cheap second hand uncomfortable furniture, a smelly oven that may not have been cleaned for years (if ever???) and crockery that we needed to wash before we used it. We are not fussy people, but clean and comfortable should be a bare minimum.... Worst of all though was a chirping smoke alarm on the first floor landing, indicating a dead battery. On closer inspection, there wasn't even a battery fitted!! I offered to replace it if the owner couldn't arrange it for...

'The bungalow is up for sale and it felt like they weren't really bothered about maintenance. Garden covered in weeds, cooker and shower dirty. Had to get cups replaced as all cracked and stained, shower mat replaced as it was brown with dirt. 29degrees but could only open bathroom window and little lounge window. Whole place needs a deep clean and furniture updating'
