'While the house is 300 ft from the beach front of the lake, you must drive to get to it. It looks as if it is a straight shot from the back to the lake, and while we did walk it a couple of times, I wouldn't recommend it with smaller children. It was overgrown and there was no clear path. We stayed for a week with 2 smaller children, and there wasn't a broom around to sweep the floors inside or the deck on the outside. Not sure what was going on with the hot tub but I believe they "shocked" it...
