'Getting to the island involved catching the dedicated boat anchored offshore. Prepare to get wet! The journey was over an hour but with great views of Koh Ta Kiev island and others.
We were welcomed by volunteers and Giovanni gave us a brief on arrival. We were shown to our accommodation which was just off the beach.
The hut was on stilts and featured fairly comfortable beds with much needed mosquito nets, a balcony facing the sea, and complementary water.

'Far away from nice bars. Hotel oke, but staff isn't friendly at all and gives wrong information about bus trips. Don't book your bustickets ( at chapa company) at the hotel! Hotel does't gives you any information about the hotel and surroundings. When you come back at the hotel after 11 o'clock, there is nobody anymore... If you have a choice... Go to otres 2!'

This lovely and charming beachtown had been sold to the chinese and they are building casino’s, for the chinese, everywhere. The Khmer and expats are moving out, about 75 percent of the population is chinese!
The same goes for the hotel! Once a paradise on earth for european visitors, I was now one of the four people from europe. The rest in this fully booked hotel was... chinese!
