'We made happy memories over a cold January weekend. We cooked together, sat around the fire, played games and dozed in comfortable beds with high quality linens. We enjoyed the view of the water and the twinkling lights on the property at night. The steam shower was divine. If you like cooking, bring good knives, a veggie peeler and good pans. The house sits on a pond in a beautiful location with large windows and patio doors so you can enjoy the view from many of the rooms. There is a large screened in porch with various seating options. I appreciated the labeling of light switches, as well. The owner responded to my questions quickly and graciously accommodated a few requests. The property was clean but appeared that no one had been there is a long time so did not have that pristine "just cleaned" feel. Some pests (bugs) and the dishwasher was not emptied (still full from previous tenants). 'Our family had a wonderful stay at the beautiful, clean, peaceful Hoyt House. There was plenty of space to gather together as well as spread out. The daffodils were beginning to bloom and there is the sight and sound of a running stream behind the home. We were close to fun things to explore like the Audubon, covered bridge, and Kent waterfalls. Great bakery, restaurants, grocery a short drive away. 'My husband and I came here for our 10th anniversary with our 9-year-old. The house itself is so charming and historic and cozy, with tons of space. We loved that there are two different stairways to the second floor, which has two parts not connected to each other. Kitchen and small table and seating area are delightful to spend time in.
