Stayed in Rm 526 for 4 nights in mid-January. This room had issues that made my stay less than ideal. The mattress was very firm and the duvet was too thin for the winter weather. In the bathroom, the toilet’s flush handle had to be firmly pushed to get it to flush. Lastly, the walls were extremely thin that you could hear your next door neighbor’s conversations clearly. I brought these issues up with the hotel’s survey form which was emailed to me. To be fair, they offered to change rooms, but I was already settled in and didn’t want to deal with the hassle of packing my belongings and moving to another room. They then provided a mattress topper which made the mattress marginally more comfortable, but still on the firm side.
I didn’t appreciate being called at 2130 to falsely accuse me of being noisy when I was soundly asleep the whole time. I felt like they could have gone up to the floor and investigate the noise complaint before leveling that kind of accusation. The lady later called to apologize but the whole situation left an unpleasant taste in my mouth. During check out, the front desk person tried to collect €700 from me, even though the reservation was pre-paid. It was an irksome situation that required him to call his manager to clear up the matter.
On the plus side, the hotel is very centrally located and made it perfect for exploring the city. The included breakfast was sumptuous and varied with a friendly & attentive staff.
