De hotel lobby is gewoon een winkel. Het is een koffietent. Liep er eerst gewoon langs. Vervolgens gingen we met de lift naar de kamer. Dat zag er opzich wel goed uit. Tot de deur open ging en ik in een mini kamer van 8 m2 kwam. Je kon amper langs het bed lopen en de deuren en muren waren smerig. Allemaal vlekken. In de douche zat schimmel, de kraan zat los en er was geen toiletborstel aanwezig. Volgende keer zou ik hier niet meer slapen.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at our hotel. We are a small hotel of 21 rooms. We have an on-site coffee shop so that we can provide our guests with breakfast and snacks but it is also open to the public at certain times of the day. There is a large Maitrise Hotel sign outside the building. Apologies if you were disappointed with your room. Had you made the staff aware of this we may have been able to move you to another one more to your liking.

Kamers zijn verschrikkelijk Er zat geen raam in,niks. Omdat de eerste ook nog klein was kreeg ik het er benauwd van. Op verzoek een andere kamer gekregen. Deze was ruim maar ook zonder raam. Dat zie je nergens als je de foto's ziet. Verder doet het personeel zijn uiterste best. Schoon kon ik de kamers ook niet echt noemen. Het ontbijt war oké.

The staff was phenomenal! We were told the only room left in the entire hotel was downstairs in the basement.. this requires us to take an elevator down to the basement and it smelled when we got to the landing. The room was clean however was tiny.

Dont expect to get any sleep
This is by no measure a four-star hotel. We got a room in the basement, meaning now window. The room was small, but for London that is to be expected. Unfortunately, the room was poorly insulated. Every time the room next door closed their door, we could clearly hear it. That is not a problem during the day but during night when you want to sleep it is not good. Stayed there for five nights, and we woke up at least a few times every night. The staff was nice, and the place was clean, but don’t expect a full night sleep.

Clean but tiny - wouldn’t stay again
After reading previous reviews I was aware that we may get a room without a window, however we arrived at the hotel too early to check in but we asked to leave our cases so we could explore. We also asked if there was a room with window available and we were told by 2 people that yes there was and that they would give us that room. We arrived back shortly after 2pm to be told we were in the basement in a room with no window. The room was clean but tiny and the toilet very rarely flushed properly and kept running constantly which is annoying to listen to when you’re trying to sleep. There are tea and coffee sachets with a kettle but no milk. We bought some milk from the nearby shop. The hotel is based in quite a busy cafe, so you often have to wait in a queue to speak to staff. The staff were polite and our room was clean however I would not choose to stay here again. I believe there are better hotels for the price we paid.

Ho scelto quest'hotel aspettandomi una struttura a 4 stelle, in realtà mi sono trovata in una stanza senza finestre, con il rubinetto del lavandino totalmente staccato, era appoggiato. La doccia aveva il gancio della doccetta che si muoveva. Il letto era una piazza e mezza, i dettagli della stanza lasciati al caso, come il pavimento che faceva rumore ecc. La presa solo da una parte del letto. Negli opzional della camera c'era l'asse ed il ferro da stiro... non c'era niente. La saponetta è arrivata il giorno dopo, ho trovato solo due barattolini con lo shampoo che mi sono bastati fino alla fine della vacanza: 3 gg. La confezione della saponetta... rimasta vuota e aperta dove l'avevo lasciata. Nessun frigo bar in camera. Però c'era la cassaforte e il fono per i capelli. 😉

Dear Guest, we are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your stay. Unfortunately yes, we have rooms without windows, as it's specified on the website. It is a busy hotel in central London and it requires a high level of maintenance which we try to maintain. We have iron and board available upon request, as well as more soap and shampoo. Von einem 4 Sterne-Haus hatten wir eine andere Erwartung. Zimmer ohne Fenster ist ein No-Go... Personal war sehr freundlich, machte den Zimmertausch auch möglich. Sehr klein, sehr laut, aber Anbindung an ÖPNV super.

Die Zimmer waren sehr klein, geputzt wurde offenbar gar nicht, lediglich das Bett wurde gemacht und die Badetücher gewechselt. Zudem war gegenüber vom Hotel eine Baustelle und es war allgemein sehr lärmig.

This was serviceable. Everything is expensive I. This city. That being said it was a decent value. There was a/c, tv with a bunch of channels and working WiFi. The rest was mediocre but I booked last minute and it was a life saver.

Booked the hotel for a short overnight stay, due to its proximity to Paddington Station (15 minute walk) to catch the Heathrow Express. The room was on the lower level, so it had no windows or any natural light. The room was clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel reception is in a cafe, so can get a little cramped when checking in and out and if you are leaving your bags in storage, I'd recommend waiting until the staff have put them away downstairs. The hotel is located on Edgeware Road, where it is predominantly middle eastern shops and restaurants. If the middle east experience is not for you, a 20-30 minute walk will get you to Oxford Street, Marble Arch and Hyde Park. I'd recommend this hotel if you were after a reasonably priced short stay.

Hotel bien situé ( 50m du metro ). Chambre propre et personel agréable. Par contre chantier en cours en face de l’hôtel (je suis conscient que l’hôtel n’y peut rien du tout mais il faut savoir que les ouvriers travaillent du lundi au samedi a partir de 8:00 donc bruits de chantier des 8:00...) Le gros point noir de l’hôtel et l’insonorisation des chambres, que ce soit avec l’extérieur où on entend comme ci nous étions dans la rue ( une sirene de pompier ambulance ou police toutes les 5 minutes sans exagérer de jour comme de nuit...), ou avec les parties communes de l’hôtel. Nos voisins de chambres sont rentrés en pleine nuit et nous avons été reveillés par le bruit de l’ascenseur et de la porte de leur chambre. Pour un hotel 4 etoiles je m’attendais à beaucoup mieux. Je ne recommande pas cet établissement

Even if the windows are double glazed if someone is a light sleeper pin drop silence is something which you cannot get in any hotel in this location since central London is a 24/7 busy. Best Regards

What can I say? Staff was great! Location was close to tubes. Room was small but clean. I liked the rain shower head. Nice room for the price.

No busquéis la típica entrada de un hotel de 4 estrellas porque no lo encontraréis. La es una mesa pequeña al final de la barra de una cafetería. Lo malo de la habitación y el baño es que no tienen ventanas y no estaba indicado cuando hemos reservado la habitación (hace 3 meses...). El baño no funciona bien. No es un hotel 4 estrellas !!!! Lo bueno es que la habitación es tranquila y hemos dormido bien. Positivo: En el hotel hay disponibles buenos mapas de Londres.

There is no way of knowing 3 months in advance whether or not it will be possible to allocate a particular guest a room containing windows but, if you request this at the time of booking, we will try and accommodate you. We are glad the you found the room quiet and were able to sleep well and that you found the tourist map helpful.

Hotellrommet lå litt for nære kjøkken og resepsjon så vi hørte mye lyd. Strømmen gikk i første rommet, så vi måtte bytte rom. I det nye rommet så virket ikke toalettet. I tillegg så var det for varmt på rommene og air-condition virket dårlig.

Apologies for the fact that there were electrical problems in the original room allocated to you which necessitated a room change. The power outage happened on the day of your arrival and has now been resolved. We moved to you the room next door as soon as the problem was reported to us. This was a free upgrade to a larger room. Our staff would have been happy to explain how to use the air-conditioning, if asked, and they would also have dealt with the faulty toilet had they been informed. Thank you for your feedback.
