This is our experience:
We booked this apartment just to realise it was more or less like a storage place for the owner. He had his private belongings in the apartment which generated odor each time we entered the apartment. It's a spacious apartment but not well maintained, dirty walls etc.
Even the storage space below our bed had private belongings of him. The plastic bed frame was also taped on the left side, dusts everywhere, no moltons on the bed so you could see stains, the oven was very dirty indicating it was wasn't cleaned for months, some kitchen cupboards had DO NOT USE signs on them.
Apartment was already fully paid and he was not in Madrid so we had no other choice than to compleet our stay and make a report to him. ( a normal procedure )
Due to a temporal noice of the streets which can of course happen, we moved into an interior room which was very dirty and again packed with personal belongings.
We explained the situation to him so he promised to pay us a slight difference for the discomfort we experienced, he never paid the difference and even ignored all my calls and messages.
To me this feels like a scam because he is only interested in money and not in customer services queries nor feedback.
Malasaña where the apartment is located is great.
