Independent-accommodaties in Mersea Island

'Have seen this hotel come up a few times and thought i would try it when i was working in the area. Being a golf club it has lots of extras, gym, spa, pool etc. The gym was well equipped with the latest tech, the pool area was lovely with a jacuzzi ,steam and sauna room. Clean changing rooms with ample lockers. The room was spacious with one of the largest beds ive seen, decent amenities, tea,coffee n biscuits. Great bathroom and shower. The restaurant was nice, the food was decent with plenty...

'Very nice hotel on a very convenient location. Just outside the buzz of Southend pier and city center but in walking distance. Great views over the Thames estuary. The rooms are very well appointed. Great design. But unfortunately not all design is practical. The bathroom is really too small. Room 204 very large, but a tiny bed and an unworkable bathroom. This doesnt add up to comfort. I hope they have rooms with a normal size bathroom. '

'A large suite with separate bedroom and bathroom, both of a very generous size. This was offered as an upgrade which was a pleasant surprise. Staff most attentive and food and service in the restaurant was excellent. Highly recommended.'
