The Miller Farm Cottage

Dit afgelegen en rustige huisje op een 20 hectare grote hobbyboerderij is het perfecte uitje. Met wandelpaden vanaf de achterdeur naar Abbott's Mill Nature Center op het aangrenzende terrein, is het perfect voor vogelaars, natuurliefhebbers, of gewoon voor een mooie wandeling.
We zijn een gemakkelijke 15 minuten rijden van het DE Turf Sports Complex op Rt. 1 ten noorden van Milford en 35 minuten van Sports at the Beach bij Georgetown.
Het huisje is klein, maar voelt ruim aan met een gewelfd plafond in de woonkamer en een open plattegrond. Er is veel natuurlijk licht met grote ramen en Franse deuren naar de prachtige afgeschermde veranda. Er is een gas grill net buiten de achterdeur. De veranda zorgt voor een prachtig binnen / buiten leven; herten kunnen vaak worden gezien in de bosrijke zijtuin of in de wei buiten. Wilde kalkoenen verschijnen ook af en toe.
Het huisje is schaduwrijk en voorzien van airconditioning voor prachtige zomerdagen en -avonden en de stralende vloerverwarming maakt het gezellig en warm in de winter.
Maak een wandeling naar de kreek aan de achterzijde van het pand of wandel door het bos naar het natuurcentrum Abbott's Mill. Abbott's is een 313 hectare groot natuurreservaat en biedt paden die open zijn voor het publiek, een bewaarde korenmolen, een vijver, weiden, een dierenverzameling en educatieve programma's. Ze organiseren ook Music at the Mill op bepaalde zomerweekends.
De stranden van de Atlantische Oceaan en Delaware Bay zijn vlakbij. Lewes (30 minuten), Rehoboth Beach (30 minuten) en Ocean City, Maryland (45 minuten) zijn populaire strandbestemmingen. Andere nabijgelegen attracties zijn Cape Henlopen State Park, Killens Pond State Park en de Cape May / Lewes Ferry. De stranden van Delaware Bay zijn populair voor de jacht op zeeglas en liggen op slechts 15 tot 20 minuten afstand.
Geniet van belastingvrij winkelen bij de Tanger Outlets nabij Rehoboth Beach.
Downtown Milford ligt op 5 minuten rijden en beschikt over coffeeshops, antiekwinkels, kapperszaken, restaurants en de Mispillion River-wandeling.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cozy cottage! The Miller’s exceeded all expectations with an immaculately clean home, beautiful property and awesome animals my 3 year old (and my wife and I lol) loved feeding and petting. Having small children, we were so happy that it was only 1 floor having great space for all of our needs including the screen room to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. We will most definitely be staying here again; My family and I can’t thank Duane and his family enough for such a lovely experience!

We are six moms who wanted a weekend away. We chose this cottage due to the presence of goats (who doesn’t love goats!) and were pleasantly surprised by having cows at our disposal, too! The cottage is located on a family property and has ample parking for multiple cars. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals; it has a keurig for morning coffee which we happily drank on the screened-in porch (under the watchful eye of the farm animals nearby at the fence!) You can access walking trails from the property which takes you to a nearby nature preserve- the walk is flat and very accessible. Less than a ten minute drive away is the town of Milford which had some super cute boutiques, antique stores, art galleries, and a great Mexican restaurant. The owners of the property, Duane and Theresa, were gracious, friendly and very accommodating. Clean-up and check-out were a breeze! Each of us intends to go back with our own families and we definitely want to spend another girls weekend here. We miss the animals already!

We have stayed here several times and will definitely stay here again. Home is clean and very welcoming. It has everything you need for day to day activities, whether you are cookimg and staying in or goimg out. Lots to do around the area, including nature hikes and many beaches within driving distance. My grandsons love all of the animals on the property. Guests are always friendly and accessible if you need them.

We had the most amazing stay at Miller Farms. The host was wonderful, the cottage was clean, well-stocked, charming and comfortable, and it was perfect for my family. We loved the cottage, which is in a perfect location. We were minutes away from the fairgrounds where we had a tournament, and the beaches were nearby as well. We could quickly and easily get any food or supplies that we needed, but the farm is surrounded by beautiful nature - it was the best of both worlds. Lastly, the cows and goats were so sweet and charming! This group of city people were delighted to get to interact with them, and the boys loved them so much, we heard them telling their teammates about them. . We hope to stay here for the future WKA tournaments, and had a the best visit to this lovely property.

Fantastic!

Family of 5 in town for a lacrosse tournament at DE turf fields. Amazing location for this purpose. The house and property were awesome and clean. Our kids (even the teens) really enjoyed the farm animals! The home is in a quiet neighborhood and very close to everything in town. The owners are so nice too, and gave great suggestions for local sights. We will definitely look to stay here again if in the area, highly recommend!

Cutest and Friendliest Stay

This was the absolute BEST place I have stayed away from home. The owners were EXTREMELY accommodating, going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. They even stepped in as much as to call around to their friends to find us a shower chair when I forgot to bring ours from home. They brought the kids corn hole to play. They made us feel more like family than guests. The cottage is also very handicapped/walker/wheelchair friendly.

Cozy cottage delight

We were just looking for something simple and local to the turf complex. I didnt realize when i booked how amazing the property is. We were greated by their goats and cat named double stuff. My 12 year old instantly fell in love and we all felt at home. I 100% recommend this space to anyone looking for a slice of heaven. Lacrosse family weekend

The cottage was perfect for our lacrosse weekend at DE Turf. Only 15 minutes to the fields. It was adorable and very clean. The hosts were very quick to respond if I had any questions. Feeding the animals was a bonus so don’t forget to pick up some apples and carrots on your way in.

Peaceful country cottage

The property was perfect for us three sisters. It was easy to find with the directions the owners give once you book your stay. The place was clean and tidy. Book and game lovers will find a nice selection of books and games. No complaints here!
