Rooms are very small so if you're someone who likes to spend a lot of time in your room, this is probably not for you if you're more than 1 person. 'This property is andventure into the past of Old NYC when servers and staff dressed in white jackets and used extremely polite language to bring tou back to a time of elegance. The hotel elevators were only big enough for 4 people at a time and the mail shoot is still in use the eating areas were opulant and decorated with fine art and beautiful china. 'Big room. Got a free upgrade!! Room was very clean and the staff was very nice! Unfortunately the airco didn’t work very well but we could open the windows for fresh air! There was free coffee and tea. They cleaned the room everyday and got fresh towels everyday! Subway is a 6 minute walk from the hotel. Would highly recommend!! I was a little bit worried because I’ve read a lot of negative reviews but the hotel was nothing but amazing! '

In the weekend people from the neighbourhood are celebrating in the lobby with loud music. It feels strange when you enter but it's only in the weekend and in the room you won't hear anything. I think it's nice that the hotel offers local people this opportunity. You will feel save in the hotel and the subway is nearby. Our room was nice and clean.'

Shower was nice and hot with every day clean towels and soap. Coffee and tea was supplied every day for the machine. They kept our luggage after check out in a locked room. 'I read the mixed reviews and chose Macaw Guesthouse anyway - I am glad that I did. It was a reasonable option in expensive New York City and it was as described. Charming hosts who went out of their way to welcome me and ensure that I was comfortable. Short walk to transportation options and dining options nearby. Highly recommend and would stay again. '

"Good place next to time square, clean hotel, good beds, rooms for 4 persons aren somewhat small if you have suitcases, but doable. Breakfast is proper and included (just missing basic options for bread such as cheese and ham).
The elevator situation especially around breakfast time is terrible. There are 5 elevators for over 30+ floors. If you are below level 20 there is a fair chance that you have to wait +10 mins for a elevator thats not full.
Further is the rooftop bar not just to but you must take a table. Outside space is limited, while inside the airco is on turbo.
Staff in general is nice, there is a basic but well maintained gym and they offer taxi services in case u need one to the airport. Conclusion, eventhough the elevator situation I would return."
