'Tijdens onze reis door Oost Amerika was dit hotel het hotel wat ons het meest aansprak. Netjes. Je kan de gehele dag koffie, frisdrank, fruit, muesli repen en zakjes chips pakken (dus geen wijn of bier). Het ontbijt is eenvoudig, maar van goede kwaliteit. Goede koffie, kwark, croissantjes en wat zoetigheid. Prettig publiek in het hotel. Een dikke tien voor degene die dit concept heeft bedacht. We hebben ervan genoten.'

I wish there was a formal tour as part of the check in service and that William had a whole staff under him to help lift up the historical aspect of the hotel. 'The hotel was phenomenal! We were greeting so warmly on arrival and given great dining and neighborhood tips by Ben- who was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful and all aspects of the hotel and dining/ bar spaces were gorgeous and full of character. We enjoyed The Portrait Bar a couple of times and had such fun. We also had breakfast in the restaurant and a spectacular dinner at Cafe Carmellini. I wish I could remember our server’s name because she was top notch.

'The hotel thrives on the staff, especially the reception and surroundings and housekeeping! Breakfast could do better, but nevertheless okay. Rooms are (too) small, dark and horribly outdated. The neighbourhood is dirty and not very attractive though close enough to the more popular areas in downtown. In short I would not recommend this hotel until renovated (not only the rooms but also the lounge area and restaurant).'

'The location one of the best parts of this hotel. You are steps away from luxury shops and restaurants. You have access to Zero Bond and a speak easy bar (located in the basement). 'The hotel is inside part of the old Met Life building on Madison Avenue which makes it a little difficult to find for the taxi drivers. Once actually in the hotel the staffing level is good and staff are attentive and helpful. The rooms are of a good size for NY and as this is a new hotel they are in very good condition.

"Hele fijne locatie. Het was mij niet bekend dat er geen restaurant/ontbijtlokaal was. Het ontbijt was wel goed opgelost , je kon naar de overkant van de straat 2 consumpties naar keuze afhalen.
Ook was de rooftop gesloten. Dat vonden wij jammer.

"There is a lot of noise in the hotel. The walls are thin and next to room 310 there is something like a generator that makes a continuous noise. The shower also makes a lot of noise for hot water.
The employees at the reception are not very friendly, they don't even say good morning when you walk by.
The beds are very comfortable and the location is perfect. Just don't forget your earplugs to sleep well."
