'We had a lovely time here! We were travelling by public transport, and this spot is a little of out of the way, but they sent a shuttle to the train station and it was easy to arrive. It was not clear from their website that the restaurant would not be open for dinner, and the closest restaurant by foot (other than McDonald's) was a 30 minute walk away. That was no problem; we had a nice walk, a great dinner, and really loved the onsen!'

'Fun experience in a traditional Japanese hotel. The dinner and lunch were great. Being right in the park made it super easy to visit the temple and feed the deer. The public bath is on the smaller side, but does the job. They called us a cab to the train station when we checked out which was nice. '

'From the very first time we arrived in Asuka, on to the house. We were surprised by it's magic. The village is so serene, near by all the amenities we needed from walking distance to restaurants, grocery store, and train station. The house itself is absolutely magical. It's like a fairy tail. We arrived right when the autumn color burst out their magnificent red, orange, and gold. This place is even better because the hosts, the elderly couple who take cared of us while we were there were the...

'We were picked up by the hotel shuttle bus from the train station. On arrival at the hotel, we were welcomed by a lot of staff and got a welcome drink in the lounge with a stunning view over the city.
We were then invited for a after dinner trip to the top of the mountain which was again a stunning view over the city.
The dinnner and breakfast were typical Japanese style and very tasty.
The rooms are big and had reasonable size bathrooms. There’s also a big public bath.

'This is our favorite place to stay this Japan trip. The room is very large and spacious. The deep outdoor soaking tub is a huge plus traveling with a kid. You have to walk up the stairs to the 3rd floor but they have a luggage/cargo elevator so all you need to do is to walk yourself up there without the hassle to haul luggages. Parking is not included but there is a small paid parking lot right next to the backstreet of the hotel. Walking distance to JR Nara station.'

"Gemiddeld verblijf. Ontbijt was wel breed is aanbod maar vaak niet zo gezond. Gemengde service van personeel. Incheck niet warm ontvangen. Andere hulp was wel ok. En dan nog kleine details. Geen water op de kamer. Je moet met een kan ijs en water gaan halen. Weinig extra badkamerspullen dan de basic. Kortom. Prijs-kwaliteit; gemiddeld en dat is niet zo goed voor een naam als Citadines. "
"Newer hotel, definitely not a 5 star hotel in room, service and breakfast quality. Bathroom smaller than one in Holiday Inn Express. Although rooms were paid in advance at arrival a relative high amount of bail was asked for and the small amount of tourist tax had to be paid directly and could not be put on the bill at check out.
The architect who designed the room should be sent back to school, what a bunch of unpractical errors.
In my case 5 star expectations were not met but had my expectations be towards 3 star it would be ok."
