Disappointed and Misled – Serious Safety Concerns Ignored
Our experience with this property was extremely disappointing/ stressful. Nowhere in the listing did it mention that the apartment was on the 3rd floor with no elevator and a narrow stairwell - critical information, as we were traveling with a family member who has a neurological disorder. Even more concerning was the condition of the flooring—severely slanted throughout the unit. My family member nearly fell into the wall while simply walking down the hallway, which posed a serious safety hazard.
Also, the condition of the furniture/ linens were unacceptable. The pink sectional shown in the listing was dirty and stained, far from what we expected based on the photos and description.
I attempted to contact the property manager to address these safety concerns and explain that we could not stay at the property under these conditions. I was assured someone would follow up, but I never received responses. Despite being polite and patient, neither the owner nor his manager ever got back to us. We also reached out to VRBO for assistance and are still waiting for a resolution.
Because of the unsafe conditions, we had to book 2 hotel rooms at our own expense. This experience was both emotionally and financially exhausting. I hope others can avoid a similar situation by being aware of these critical details that were unfortunately omitted from the listing.
